Gavin's 4th Birthday

I am been totally slacking on this post!

Happy 4th Birthday Gavin!

This year was a really low key year.  On Thursday night we went to Walmart for party stuff and to get preschool stuff.  On Friday Gavin had his 4 year Well Child Check.  Here are his Stats:

Height: 100.97 cm at 38%tile
Weight: 32 lbs at 10%tile
BMI: 13.8 at 3%tile

After the Well Child Check (Which went great by the way, he is normal for everything) he went to Preschool with his Birthday Poster and Cupcakes.  After Preschool, we went to Costco to get more party stuff and headed home to hang out the rest of the day, clean the house and decorate and get ready for the party!

Saturday was the Big Day! 4 Years old! Friday night I decorated his room with balloons which is loved waking up to again, we hung out in the morning and then I had to go to class.  After class I stopped at Walmart for some last minute party details, went home and we started preping for the BIG Birthday party.  We had a fun time a the Phineas and Ferb Birthday Party and I made awesome Perry the Platypus cupcakes.  We had sandwich plater from Costco, veggie tray, fruit salad and punch.  It was yummy.

Sunday was Daylight Saving day, so we just hung out at home (while I went and taught a horrible lesson at church) and ate leftovers!  It was a great weekend and we are so lucky to have little 4 year old Gavin!  We went bowling a week later and will celebrate when Aunt Cathy comes!

PS - Since my computer took a dump, I don't have all the pictures that we took of him and his presents, food, decorations and party :(

Faith Update

I need to start thinking of better titles...Have any for me?  Leave them in the comments?

I think I am getting worse at this {seeing the hand of the Lord in my life} thing.  I think that maybe I need to do it on a daily basis, not weekly, because as I thought about it yesterday, where I saw the hand of the Lord in my life last week, I couldn't think of any...Then that made me sad :(

But then something happened yesterday.  Another unexpected prayer I have had in my heart that was answered.  I have been feeling a lot lately that, really, why am I in my calling.  I feel like I am so wrapped up in my job, family, life, school that I really haven't given any time to these girls, I feel so lost in our meetings and at activities.  Even my last lesson was horrible.  So, I have been having a pity me party, but one of the girls reached out to me yesterday with some concerns she has in her life right now and I gave her some advice! I love these girls and I hope they all know that I am always here and would do anything for them, sometimes (especially me) it is hard to show that.

On Thursday night I was having another rough night (I get food poisoning a LOT), so I was up and down and couldn't sleep.  I was thinking about my lesson on Easter, and a thought popped into my head, so I am kind of running with it.  I hope the lesson goes well and it isn't too childish, and the girls learn something from it.

Wow, have these posts turned into a pity me, or tell me how great I am post?  I hope not, I just really want to remember the specific times I have help in my life, and I know it came from Heavenly Father.

Faith Weekly Update

As promised, another {Where have I seen the Lord's hand in my life} update this week.  On Sunday, I had an unexpected Prayer answered in an unexpected way.  Mike has drill weekends once a month every month. Every drill weekend it seems like I am dragging and it is such a big issue to get to church.  Then with all the sickness we have had the last couple months, I haven't wanted to take Greyson {at least} to Nursery, because Mike and I just can't afford to take anymore time off work. So I had to teach this Sunday, and I had just randomly thought, what am I going to do next week, take Greyson to class with me and just teach?  In Young Women's they announced that I wouldn't have to teach until Easter, so whew!  I don't have to worry about being distracted with Greyson while teaching.

Monday night, I am so grateful for my knowledge of Essential Oils.  Greyson is seriously the gassiest kid I know, and randomly, he will get these hard belly, can't move, scream because it hurts so bad stomach aches.  I just put a couple drops of Digestzen on his belly a couple times every 15 minutes, and by the second dose {15 minutes later} he is happy and smiling and playing and tooting up a storm, but so better.

And again with the Oils, on Sunday I was researching Slim and Sassy {A weight loss Oil}, I don't like the oil in my drink {it is not good :)} But found out that it can be used as a sleep aid.  And trust me, it works like a charm for me!  On Sunday night I couldn't sleep so I put some on my feet and the next thing I knew my alarm was going off the next morning.  Last night we had a rough night with {the gassiest kid in the world} and after we finally got him back to bed, I couldn't sleep.  So I again rubbed some on my feet and the next think I knew, it was a couple hours later and Gavin was screaming about something.  It knocked me right out and after I calmed Gavin down and helped him out, I zonked out again until my alarm went off SEVERAL times!

Again on Sunday, I think I might have realized why I was put into my Young Women calling.  I used to be so {smart} when it came to church doctrine.  But then I got busy.  I got married, went to work, had babies, and stopped studying.  I need to get back to that place I was at before I got busy, and then learn more, and teach the Young Women, and my kidlets!  Even through all the {stuff} I have to do everyday, I needed to take time to remember that Work is just to earn money for my family, School it just to get a better career to earn money for my family, but Family, and knowledge, and faith is what I am going to take with me, so I need to take what little time I can to study, read, remember what I used to know about the scriptures and doctrine.  That would only help increase my faith and my testimony so that maybe when I teach, I don't feel like such a putts who is an idiot who shouldn't be teaching anyone anything!

I am super thankful for the times I do feel the spirit in my life, and I am thankful it is a lot!  I am thankful I know how to recognize it and that I am now starting to acknowledge it.  I am hopefully on the right path, and on the right track.

Saint Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick's day 2013

Bowling

Last Saturday we took the boys out bowling, because we didn't really do anything fun as a family for Gavin's birthday and because we haven't taken them bowling yet!

They had so much fun! They like to set up the ball on the track and push it down, they liked to watch the ball hit the pins then they would run back to the ball return and wait for the ball to come back. It was cute. Greyson was so funny. He would push the ball down the track and start jumping up and down saying I did it, I did it! So cute!

Hand of the Lord

I promised myself I would try to update once a week on the blog of the times I have seen the Lords hand in my life that week.  Last week was HORRIBLE.  Mike was sick Tuesday on, Gavin and Greyson were throwing up at night Tuesday and Wednesday then wouldn't eat anything really the rest of the week because they had tummy aches all the time.  Gavin's birthday was Saturday and I was busy getting ready for that.  I had Young Womens on Tuesday, a Boutique on Wednesday and it was just a BUSY week.

Threw all of that, I am thankful for Priesthood blessings and worthy Priesthood holders around me that will help when we need blessings.  Mike got a Priesthood blessing on Thursday and I believe that faith and belief in that blessing helped him get better quickly.  I am also thankful for a DR who knows us and is always helpful when we are sick or have been sick for months on end!

I bought a couple more diffusers this week to diffuse On Guard (an immunity blend doTERRA sells) to try to rid our house of sickies and to keep the sickies out when we had Gavin's Birthday party.  I am thankful that they worked from Thursday to Sunday so that we could try to keep a clean aired house!

My lesson on Sunday totally blew (probably because I had a busy week and only looked at it twice in a week) but it made me realize that without my faith in Jesus Christ, would any of this stuff we have been doing the last year or I am sure longer be possible?  I know I am super busy, and trying to juggle it all, but I can't let my personal relationship with my Heavenly Father go, because I am busy being a full time employee, student, mom, wife!  I still need to take that time to study my lessons and scriptures, not just school.

And on a final note, I will go a little bit into this week.  School has been kicking my butt.  I often think to myself, why did I decide to do this?  Then I go to work and something happens (Like I get a rude email or someone talks crap about me to my boss about how rude I am) and I remember, you need to better yourself so you can get the heck out of your crappy job!  So, I think I am the worst judge of myself ever.  I am a perfectionist and when I am not getting good grades on my test or I miss a class because I am sick, I beat myself up over it.  I have been praying for a couple months now, since I have been in school, that I will remember what I am studying and that I might apply it to my tests and assignments and come out getting a good grade in the end.  Then I bomb another Biology test, or do horrible on an Americanization quiz.  BLAH!  This is a week were I have 2 papers, and 15 sentence assignment on a topic, and 25 question quiz due yesterday.  I totally slacked and got the papers and assignment done and turned in on Monday but didn't take the test.  I had to take it last night after Young Womens.  I came home and had 50 minutes to take it. I only took about 30 minutes to take it and got a 44 out of 50!  That is the best score I have scored on my quizzes!  I am so happy!  Something is starting to settle in!  I am so thankful for the Lord's hand in my life and I hope he continues to bless me in ways he feels I need it!

8 Years

8 Years ago today, I married my best friend.  I seems like just yesterday, but at the same time it seems like FOREVER ago.  We have of course been through some ups and downs and have 2 great little guys!  We are in a house that we tolerate :)  We have been through a LOT of jobs in the last 8 years, a lot of cars, and a lot of change.  But through it all, he has been there for me and I am thankful for him and his support!  I love you Mike..Happy Anniversary!

Gavin's Birthday Invites

I had to look at ebay this year for his invitations because I couldn't find Phineas and Ferb Birthday Invites anywhere...Then, low and behold, I find some at Walmart.  Not the kind that I like because I like to have their pictures on it, but eventually I will have to break the mold and go with the availability :)  Anywho, I love how it turned out, and it was super reasonably priced (better than in years past, for sure!)

Greyson Update

I have been putting it off, and putting it off, but it is time for the Greyson Update!

I am pretty sure he has all his teeth, molars and everything and has had them for a couple months now.  Time to go to the Dentist?

This kid is even worse then his brother.  He is the biggest talker and I am amazed everyday how much he knows and says.  I always think that he is older then he really is because he is so smart.  I see other kids his age and they don't talk as good as him and think how smart he is!  I am sure it has a lot to do with a big older brother.

He is off the food wagon.  Unless it is a Banana, Yogurt (that is red), Chicken Nuggets, or candy and cookies, he doesn't eat!  He doesn't like cheese anymore, but loves his sippy cup!

He can count to 4, he knows all his body parts, he likes to randomly sing (it is super cute!)

He likes to watch Phineas and Ferb, Dinosaur Train, Shawn the Sheep and Alvin and the Chipmunks.

He is an AMAZING sleeper.  He is still in his crib, but we can put him down at 7 and he will sleep until at least 6:30 the next morning!

He is still on Miralax (boo) and it seems there is no end in sight for that right now.

He is still in 18 month clothes, size 5 shoes and size 3 diapers, but I think we need to move him to a 4, so next time we buy diapers we will be moving up a size!

He calls himself Gre-son, Gavin is Gamin.

He is the cutest kid! So glad it is my little Grey Bear!

Happy Birthday Gavin

Today is your birthday, shout hooray!  I can't believe you are 4 years old.  Time has gone by so fast and you are learning and growing so much.  You love Sunbeams, preschool, dance class, your music class you were in and going to the babysitters house.  You like your movies and TV shows and to sing and dance to music.  You are so (mostly) good with your little brother and a big helper to me and dad. Thank you so much, so are great and I can't wait to see what this next year will bring you!  Love you so much and so proud of you!

Love, Mom
