Garett's Baby Blessing

We blessed Garett on Gavin's birthday so we could have one big celebration.  He was blessed March 9th, 2014.  It was a great day with family and friends.  We had a taco bar and celebrated Gavin's 5th birthday (see previous post).

I am so blessed to have these boys in my life.

Blessing Day

On Sunday, July 3rd, we blessed Greyson! What a special day. He wore the same outfit that Gavin did. We didn't get a family picture because as soon as we got home, Mike decided to change his clothes & Gavin took a walk with my brother, so here he is in his blessing outfit & blessing blanket & with me. He did such a good job during the blessing, he slept the whole time like nothing was going on! What a trooper. After Sacrament, we had family over for a BBQ. We had Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Fruit, Salads, Chips and Cupcakes! YUM! It was a wonderful day for all of us to be together. Thanks everyone who came and supported us! We love you all and are so thankful for Greyson in our family & lives!

Christmas Day

Gavin woke up at about 7:15 on Christmas Morning so Mike offered to go get him and play with him until his mom got to our house to open Presents. Gavin snuck into our room at 8 so I got up to go look in our stockings before Grandma got there. Grandma came at about 8:30 so it was finally time to open presents. Gavin was super funny about it. He would open a gift and then want to play with it. We had to hide the open toys in order for him to open another one. After about 5 gifts he was done and wanting to play and eat so we opened the rest for him & he was happy just to see what we had opened. We had a really good Christmas this year! We were spoiled! Mike's favorite gift was his Vibram 5 Finger Shoes. My favorite gift was my new Samsung Incredible Phone and Gavin had lots of favorite gifts. He has really played with them all. I made Monkey Bread for Breakfast, but it kind of fell apart, but still tasted great. For Lunch we snacked on all the yummy food we had. At 5 we got together with Mike's Brother's Family and ate a yummy dinner of Deep Fried Turkey, Ham, Potatoes and the usual! We then had our gift exchange and played games.

It was a great day filled with Family, love, peace, and Happiness! It is always great to get back to the root of Christmas and remember the reason for the season! We celebrate Christ's Birth and the Meaning that that has on our lives today! We are truly Blessed!

Mother's Day

Yesterday I had the day to actually sit back & ponder & think about what Mother's Day means to me. It isn't my first Mother's day, but last year I was in such a fog I feel like from the lack of sleep that I really didn't get to enjoy it.

First off I would like to tell my momma how much I love her! I am sorry for any of the bad times we had or for all the hard things I put you through! I love you very much & am so grateful for the great relationship we have now! I so wish you lived closer, I miss you deeply!

Then thinking of this great gift I have now been given to be a mother, it is spectacular! I am so amazing & in awe of this life that I have been entrusted with to care for and raise. What an awesome responsibility! I am eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for loving us enough to give us the gift of a child!

I hope all you wonderful Mothers had the BEST day yesterday, I hope that you were spoiled rotten, because you deserve it & that you had the chance to reflect on what your children mean to you!

I have may blessing I am so very thankful for! I beautiful baby boy whom I love & miss very much every day! My wonderful husband who stays at home during the day, doesn't get any sleep & works nights so that one of us can always be with baby boy Gavin! My family who traveled a long way this weekend to be with us as we Blessed baby boy Gavin! Mike's family, who though some didn't travel as far, made the sacrifice to be with us on this special day, especially when it was their first time as a family going to church together in 8 months! Mike's dad who did travel far & let us get at least a 3 Generation photo of Wallenberg "men." (Hopefully soon we can get a 4 generation photo with Mike's grandpa)

I have so much to be thankful for & I have so many blessings in my life. This last weekend, last year, we were mourning the loss of our "baby" at 6 weeks. That same day, one year later, Mike was able to give Gavin a Name & a Blessing. What a difference a year makes & with faith & prayer, our lives change, & for the better! What a humbling & special experience! The morning started off rough, Gavin only slept 30 minutes in 5 1/2 hours & he wasn't eating good all morning, so I thought for sure that he wasn't going to have a good time during the blessing. We gave him some medicine & placed a heating pad on his tiny belly to relax him about 12:30pm & he finally went right to sleep! He slept until about 3pm, so right through his blessing! We are so very thankful for that!

After Sacrament meeting, we all went back to our house & had a great luncheon with family & friends. Thanks everyone for sharing this special day with us! We love you all so much & are so thankful that you took time out of your busy lives to share with us!

Preslie Ellen Therklesen

I just wanted to welcome to the world my newest, cutest niece...PRESLIE ELLEN THERKELSEN! There will be pictures to come.

She was born last night at 10:03 pm at 7 pounds 7 ounces & 20 inches long. We found out this morning at 4 am that she is a sweet spirit blessed to us with Down Syndrome. We are so fortunate to have this BEAUTIFUL, DARLING baby girl grace us with her presence! We are so thankful to our Heavenly Father for trusting our family enough to send this little girl to us & we are so excited to share in the experience of getting to know her sweet personality & humble spirit! I know that we will all be blessed, all that she will come into contact with will be blessed! I promise pictures to come!
