LG Room Update

I have so much to blog about, but am so exhausted when I put Gavin down for the night I have only wanted to do 1 post at a time, so I can go to bed & get the most sleep I can. So here is my blog post for the day. A LG room update. We are ALMOST done with his room. All we have left to do is hang his letters for his name above his crib & hang the Cars clock & the rest of the Cars decals & we will be officially done! I can't wait & we hopefully will have it done this weekend, right before he turns 3 months. Here are some updated pictures. If you look really closely at the ones with his crib, you can see him sleeping in it. Enjoy!

Back to the Spiders

Mike came home from work this morning & showed me his ankle...it was swollen, red & gross! He was working downstairs, getting boxes ready for pickup & sorting through our yard sale stuff that hopefully soon we will be selling. He said it started itching yesterday & got worse last night when he was at work, then this morning when he got home it just started killing him. I got a phone call from him at 3 saying that he was going to go to the Doctor because the pain was getting unbearable. The Doctor thinks it is a bite of some sort (probably from working downstairs yesterday & it was probably a spider...check out my post a couple days ago! Spiders) & since is started out itching & then turned to burning & pain it was either infected & venomous. So he got a cream antibiotic to put on it twice a day & we are to watch it to make sure it gets better, not worse. If it gets worse, the he will have to go back in for a shot! Please pray that it gets better & it isn't anything worse than just a spider bite. Here are some pictures of his ankle...the picture doesn't even do it justice...it looks a lot worse than it shows & it was a lot worse this afternoon than tonight when I took the picture.

12 Weeks Old!

Our Little Guy is 12 weeks old today! I can't believe it. I was thinking back to when I was 12 weeks preggers with him. That is when I very first heard his little cute heartbeat. It was becoming so surreal & now he is actually here, & 12 weeks old, & doing all these new things. I love the LG so much & really can't imagine my life without him. It is so much better with him in it! Here are some cute Pictures of the LG!

Tummy time...He is loving it more & more each day

Play time on the playmat that Grandpa W. gave him

Bumbo Time...he loves his Bumbo

Brown Recluse

Last Friday Mike came home from work & was getting the garbages together for gargabe day. I was in the shower getting ready for the day & LG was sleeping. Mike come into the bathroom & said to me...don't get freaked out. I asked him what was going on all the time thinking that Gavin had magically jumped out of his swing or something. He told him he found a spider on the stairs & thought it was a Brown Recluse. I FREAKED out!!! I asked him to take it out of the Bathroom & he put it in a box in our dining room so that I wouldn't have to see him. Mike finally killed him Sunday afternoon before I told him that I wanted to take a picture of it for the blog...but too late. Mike did a little bit more research & "decided" it wasn't a Brown Recluse...Thankfully, but we still have ugly looking spiders in our house. So this morning he went to IFA to get a bug spray & hopefully this weekend when LG & I are out with Bear for his grooming appointment, the house will get sprayed & all the nasty bugs will die! I am not a bug fan.

Crying over split milk!

I have been saving all my posts for when we became a private blog...which is now...so be prepared to be bombarded with posts of the last 2 weeks. On the 15th (Friday) I was so excited to leave work...I pump 4 times a day at work to keep up my milk supply & have a good storage here for the LG. I was on my last pump...so excited to be done pumping for the weekend & go home to spend the weekend with my boys! I drove home, was bumping to the music, excited to be home that when I got home I was so distracted. I was playing on the computer, hanging out with Gavin because I hadn't seen him all day & giving Mike a break before he had to go to work. We had a good weekend...not thinking anything about anything.
Saturday night we cleaned the house & we have a method in our house now that when I come home from work & put the pumped milk away we put it in sandwich bags because we have had quite a few bags leak, so this saves us the wasted milk. So back to cleaning the house, I was cleaning the kitchen & noticed that there was some sandwich bags out on the counter & I kept thinking...where did these bags come from, why are they on the counter? Didn't think anything else about it & went on our marry weekend way.
Monday morning Gavin slept for the first time for 7 hours straight, so we were excited but had to change our normal morning routine, so I was rushing to get ready & get a feeding in for him before I left. I was getting my pumping stuff & bags ready & was wondering where my bag & icepacks were...they were still in the pumping bag, so I pulled them out & realized that I didn't put the milk I pumped on Friday away in the freezer! UGH!!!! I wasted like 16 or so ounces! I was so upset I cried all the way to work & then some. Even after work when Mike brought I up to me & apologized I started crying again. I had more then enough milk for Gavin to get through the day, but it is not the most comfortable thing in the world to pump.
I have had lots of thinking time since then to realize that everything worked out the way it should have, so now it is just a funny story, but I haven't forgotten about my milk since then.

Last Week

It was a week, busy & eventful & now it is time (since I am ready for church, Gavin is asleep & Mike is at drill weekend, so I have some free time) to blog about it.

Sunday was Mother's Day! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MY MOMMA, MY MIL & ALL THE OTHER MOMS OUT THERE! I hope you all had a great day. It was a busy day for me. Trying to make more burp cloths for Gavin, getting ready for church, getting Gavin ready for church, all that fun stuff. I feed Gavin at 11:30 with every intention of making it to church before he would want to eat again...not so much, he wanted to eat at 12:45, right as we were about out the door for Church, so needless to say, I didn't make it. I am finding it hard to get to church when it is just me with Gavin, but last week I even had Mike & still didn't make it. After Sacrament, Mike came home & we drove up to Mike's sister's house for some Mother's day family time. We reflected on those mothers in our lives that have gone before us...Mike's grandma, Kurt's mum! How we miss them deeply! We finally made it home about 11 (good thing I didn't have to work Monday...I would have been gone)

Monday was Gavin's 2 month appointment. Wow how 2 months has flown by. He weight in at 10 lbs 10 1/2 oz which puts him in the 24th%tile & was 22 3/8 long which puts him in the 27th%tile, & his head was 15.5 inches which puts him in the 34th%tile. Wow how he has grown. He did great until it was time for shots...Here is a picture of him before, all happy.

Let just say after the shots, he wasn't so happy. After Gavin's 2 month appt., we then had a Vet appt. for Bear. He has been doing these weird things in his sleep, where he looks like he is having a seizure. So we wanted to get him checked out & it was also his time for his annual well pet checkup. He also got shots! My poor boys, it was not a good Monday! Gavin had a rough night Monday night, but I think we now know what to do next time. What a cute boy.

Tuesday - Friday were pretty much the same as everyweek. Tired as usual, I work days, Mike works nights, trying to be a family.

Saturday I got to hang out with Jessi & Madi. It is the first time I have seen Jessi since about Gavin was a little over a week old. Since then, she had her baby, Madi & I got to meet her, well she was asleep, so I meet her from a distance. What a cute little girl. Compared to Gavin, she looks small. She is 3 weeks younger, but she is all her daddy & is such a cute girl! Thanks Jessi for hangin out & for Lunch again! Can't wait until next month.

2 Months!

Wow how time flies! Baby Gavin is 2 months old today! YAY! We must be okay Parents or something. Gavin is doing so many more & new things this month. He is holding his head up by himself more. He is staying awake more (not to help Mike out any) He still wakes up 2-3 times a night to eat & is up at 5am every morning...no matter what & it is harder & harder everyday to get him to go back to sleep after that until about 7am or so. He is liking his swing more & more everyday. He smiles at us all the time & is just a happy baby! He is not much into toys yet & isn't to independent. We are getting ready to put him in his crib, he is getting to big for his bassinet, but it is still sad...he won't be in the same room with us anymore. We just need to clean out his crib & set up the Baby monitor & he will be all set to sleep in there. Other than that, we are just plugging along, only getting a couple hours of sleep here & there, but we are making it work. Enjoy these new 2 month old pics!

Blessings

I have may blessing I am so very thankful for! I beautiful baby boy whom I love & miss very much every day! My wonderful husband who stays at home during the day, doesn't get any sleep & works nights so that one of us can always be with baby boy Gavin! My family who traveled a long way this weekend to be with us as we Blessed baby boy Gavin! Mike's family, who though some didn't travel as far, made the sacrifice to be with us on this special day, especially when it was their first time as a family going to church together in 8 months! Mike's dad who did travel far & let us get at least a 3 Generation photo of Wallenberg "men." (Hopefully soon we can get a 4 generation photo with Mike's grandpa)

I have so much to be thankful for & I have so many blessings in my life. This last weekend, last year, we were mourning the loss of our "baby" at 6 weeks. That same day, one year later, Mike was able to give Gavin a Name & a Blessing. What a difference a year makes & with faith & prayer, our lives change, & for the better! What a humbling & special experience! The morning started off rough, Gavin only slept 30 minutes in 5 1/2 hours & he wasn't eating good all morning, so I thought for sure that he wasn't going to have a good time during the blessing. We gave him some medicine & placed a heating pad on his tiny belly to relax him about 12:30pm & he finally went right to sleep! He slept until about 3pm, so right through his blessing! We are so very thankful for that!

After Sacrament meeting, we all went back to our house & had a great luncheon with family & friends. Thanks everyone for sharing this special day with us! We love you all so much & are so thankful that you took time out of your busy lives to share with us!
