Ode to Mikey

Here is a post dedicated to my loving hubby! I defiantly don't give him enough credit where credit is due & I am trying to work on that. I have had a rough couple days & he is always my light & guiding strength! I can always count on him to center me & make it all go away & feel better! I always over exaggerate things & he is always the one to tell me it will all work out okay & it isn't the end of the world, so come back to earth. I would be one crazy person running around with my head cut off if it wasn't for him! Thanks for sticking by my side, loving me & Gavin unconditionally & doing everything in your power to give us what we need! We defiantly couldn't do it without you! Love you much...

Finally

I think it is about time to finally officially say that Gavin is a little walking machine! He has been walking all over the place tonight, without any help or prodding. It will just randomally stand up in the middle of the room & start walking to where ever it is that he has set his sights on! He is still a little shaky & hit his head again on the couch, but hopefully he will move forward with this new sense of freedom & accomplishment! Only time will tell & I will keep you updated!

Independance Day

Funny Guy

This morning Gavin had woke up before I left for work. Mike & I were debating whether or not to go get him or see if he would fall asleep again. I went out to the living room to let Bear back in & Gavin yelled from his room, "Mom, Come." Silly kid!

For the last week or so, Gavin has been randomly standing up in the middle of the room. I can't help but think this is 1 more step closer to him walking. Maybe by August we will FINALLY have a walker! We will just have to see.

I have taken some really cute pictures lately that I will have to post when I get home. We didn't have internet last night to post the pictures, so hopefully when I get home tonight it will be back up! Until then...

Happy Father's Day

Mike has been out in Colorado for a week now, but we back here in Utah wanted to wish him a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! I promise to have your Father's day gift ready for you when you get home on Friday & we can't wait to see you!

Happy Father's day to my Daddy & Father-in-law too! We all hope you have the very best day possible & wish we were spending the day with all three of you!

15 Months

It is a milestone! We have a 15 month old! Here is his stats & what he is doing & new this month!

Weight 19.1 lbs (1%tile & we are now at monthly weight checks)
Height 30.5 inches (33%tile)
Head 18 cm, but the Dr. rechecked because that would mean it hasn't grown & didn't give me a new #, so I don't know if that is really what it is!

The Dr. kinda looked at me like I have been starving him & mentioned that Gavin has gained any weight since his 9 month appt. He has gained like 1 pound, but that is it. We have to do monthly weight checks until he is 20 or so lbs that Dr. said.

*We are still working on the walking & standing thing. The Dr. said he is on the low end of normal for walking, but he gets better & more brave everyday!

*He can say like 10 words. Hi, Hey, Bye, See ya, Mom, Dad, Dog, Thank you, NO! Ok, so 9 words that I can think of now. He also says huh & uh-oh & sometime he says yes, it is more like a ess though. He also says something like Mikey, we don't know if he is talking about Mike or Monkey?! The Dr. said he is on the high end of normal for talking.

*He is just a happy baby that likes to play with his toys & dog all day long. If the TV is on, he usually doesn't pay attention, he likes to look at his books & walk with his cart walker.

*He how has 5 teeth & is working on his 6th tooth which seriously should pop out anytime now. It is bright purple & bulging (kinda gross) so he is working on it. 3 almost 4 teeth on top & still 2 on bottom. He is catching up!

*He still eats & drinks like a champ, but his weight doesn't show it.

*He is liking Baths more & more. As long as you don't move him very much & he can splash, then it is a great time!

*He likes to rip off toilet paper in the bathroom & throw it into the bathtub. He likes to throw really anything into the bathtub!

*He can climb onto the couch from the floor & is learning to climb off the couch feet first.

That is all really that is going on with him this month. He is just talking a lot more, trying to walk & stand & getting more teeth.

Dead Cell Phone?

I can now say that I have a "My kid threw my phone in the ______ (insert water source) Story!" It was almost like he was punishing me. I started his bath water like I always do every night. He always likes to follow me into the bathroom because he like to see the water fill up the bath tub & to see what we are doing. Tonight, he followed me in there, I left the bathroom to get his pajamas ready & came back into the bathroom just in time to see my cell phone floating to the bottom of the filled with water bath tub! Seriously? He left the bathtub when I did, crawled to the living room, grabbed my cell phone & crawled back to the bathroom to dump the phone! I cleaned it off & put it back together. It turned on. I have heard to stick it in rice to dry it out. I called Mike to let him know what is going on & the phone didn't sound very good! Dang it!

It is in the rice right now. I will leave it in there all night & try it in the morning. Hopefully everything will turn out fine with it! It is not a very good time to need a cell phone. Mike is leaving on Sunday for 2 weeks, so it would be nice to have someway to keep in touch with him!

First Haircut

First, let me preface this post with an apology. We had 2 cameras there with us but no SD card, so we had to take cell phone pictures. Sorry about that! Enjoy anyway!

Last Saturday, June 5th, we took Gavin to get his First Haircut. We went to Cookie Cutters in Lehi. They have lots of fun seats for the kids to sit in & Gavin got to watch "Cars" while he was getting his haircut. But, it didn't matter what we did or what he got to watch, he HATED the whole experience. He cried most of the time, but the end result was definitely worth it. My baby looks like a little boy now!

Again...Seriously?

Guess who has another Ear Infection? That's right, GAVIN! We took him to the Dr. on Tuesday because he was just not acting like himself & wasn't sleeping. Monday night he was up from 10:30 to 1:30! The Dr. said that he had an ear infection in his right ear! So sad, but he is now feeling better! Enjoy the picture above of him loving on Bear. This was taken yesterday, he was feeling A LOT better! So super cute!
