Crazy Hair
Garett has some crazy, wicked, long hair that we need to get cut, but we don't want to do his first haircut and we have been super busy with sickness. So, before we do get it cut (hopefully this weekend?) I wanted to take a picture of it to remember how crazy it is! It is so long it gets in his face. We don't want to cut too much off, because we love his long hair, but it needs a trim for sure.

Family Update
So now that I have updated with all the pictures in my phone (I still need to blog about our family pictures last year, Garett's first birthday pictures, our goals for the year, and Garett's stats for last year) I can do a Family Update blog...
Garett - Had his 1 year well child check and was only 20 lbs, I swear this kid is the heaviest kid I have ever had at his age. He doesn't compare. He still eats like a champ. 4 oz formula in the morning, 2 baby foods for breakfast, snacks, 2 baby foods for lunch, snacks, a toddler meal for dinner and usually some of what we are having and then 4 oz formula for dinner. He also drinks about a sippy cup and a half of milk everyday. He is in 12 month clothes, 18 month jammies and size 3 diapers, but I think it is time to move him up. He HATES to wear shoes and will cry if you put them on. He likes the TV for a minute but then goes on playing with toys. He wants to be with the boys all the time and tries really hard to keep up with them. He is not completely walking yet, but is getting closer every day. He loves to play with toys and hates it when mom leaves the room! He is a mostly happy boy until he doesn't get what he wants. He can say mom and dad and that is really it. He has 7 teeth now and is working on his 8th. He has crazy wicked hair that we need to get cut this weekend. He loves his bath. We love this boy!
Greyson - Has been doing really good on the Miralax front. He hasn't needed it for a couple months now, so that is good. He is in size 3T pants, 4T shirts and Jammies. He is completely potty trained day and night. He wears size 7 shoes. He likes preschool for the most part and says he learns stuff, but then sometimes says he doesn't want to go. He hates Primary though and has only gone once this whole year (partly because we have been sick). We have signed him up for Soccer, so we will see how that goes. He is my bully and if Gavin or Garett are crying, it is usually because Greyson did something to them. But he is my good boy at the same time. He is also a little daddy and tries to tell people what to do and how to do it. He is super independant too, has to do everything on his own. And he will only eat breakfast foods, no matter what. We love Grey!
Gavin - He loves Kindergarten. He learns so much and is doing so good. We signed him up for Soccer too so we will be running around a lot this spring. We have applied for Dual immersion programs for him for Spanish and Chinese as well as a Charter School, so around the middle of March, we should hear from those schools if he got into them. He is very interested in Spanish, so we will see. He is in size 5T clothes as well as child SM. He wears size 10 shoes. He loves primary and his class and teachers. He is mostly a good boy. He does have an attitude at night with us and gets super cranky, but we are trying to work on that and fix it. He is reading really good. He is learning so much! We love Gavin!
Mike - Started a new job the end of January. He now works at Jake's Automotive in American Fork/Pleasant Grove. It is flat rate so we aren't making exactly what we were before, but hopefully things will start to pick up. He is still doing the Navy thing, that that is going good for him. He has a new calling too, he is in the Primary. He has done that for a couple weeks now and likes his class. We are starting some home remodeling soon, so he will be busy with that. We are going to put hardwood flooring in our kitchen and dining room. Then we will hopefully finish the bedroom in the basement that is close to being done. We need more room in our tiny house for these 3 growing boys.
Me - I took this semester off to see if I could get into the Dental Hygiene program, but now I don't know if it will work out. So I am just working and hanging out at home. I think my new game plan is to finish my Math class at SLCC and graduate with an Associates. Then transfer to Western Governors University and take their online program for a Bachelors in Accounting. That way it can be done all online and I don't have to quit my job to do it. I am still in the Nursery and of course love that calling. I am hoping to help Mike do some stuff around the house to open it up for our growing family. Other then that, I am just trying to recover from 2 ER visits and my own sicknesses this month. Excited to see what the next couple months and remodeling will bring us :)

First Lost Tooth
After everything I have blogged about so far this month, all the sickness and sickness and working and such, the last thing I ever thought I would be blogging about would be a lost tooth. But, it has happened. On Sunday, Greyson and Garett just went down for a nap and Gavin and I had just finished eating Lunch. Gavin laid down for quiet time and he said to me, "I have a loose tooth." I thought he was crazy. We have been talking about loose teeth and he has friends that have lost teeth, but I didn't think he knew what he was talking about. I felt his tooth and sure enough it was loose. After much convincing, and freaking out, and not being about to get a firm grip on it, I did get a good grip and pulled it right out. He didn't freak out or bleed and was so excited to have lost his first tooth. The tooth fairy came a left him a dollar and we was more excited about that. Here is to a first tooth lost and many more to come!
An Unexpected Visitor
Weather guys in Utah have been claiming snow for a couple weeks now and it just hasn't happened. It has been so nice outside when I get home from work, I let the boys go out to play (if they aren't sick) and they were loving it. But this last weekend we saw the snow! And the boys loved it, until it melted the next day :(
Now it is too cold to go out to play anymore, and I'm not feeling good, so we will have to wait until it warms up again...

Back to the Hospital
So again, this month has been crazy with sickness. On the 4th Greyson came home with a fever then it turned into croup. On the 9th I got the flu. On the 10th we found out Greyson had RSV (because he just wasn't recovering from Croup very well). Then Mike got a cold and on the 13th Gavin threw up. On the 12th Garett's cold started and by the 14th he was struggling to breathe, not eating very well and had a fever.
On the 15th, after he had been wheezing all day, I took him to the ER. We got there at 8:45 pm after he had thrown up everything he ate for dinner. I didn't have any clothes for him, so that was nice. We finally got to a room at 10:15 and about 10:45 they came in to see us. They suctioned him and tested for RSV. He was positive for it. At about midnight they were going to release us but his oxygen levels started to dip below 92%, so they had to give him oxygen and admit us. That was horrible. At about 3:30am we got into our hospital room and had a horrible rest of the night. The plan was he had to be off oxygen and breathing at 92% or better for 6 hours. So at 9am they took him off the oxygen with the hopes of going home at 3pm! He did really good, kept hydrated and they released us at 4:30 with a prescription for an ear infection (why he kept fevering). He threw up again Monday night when we got home and Tuesday night after eating his bottle before bed.
On Monday, Mike also got the flu and since the 14th I have had this wicked cold. But everyone (except me) is on the mend and doing better. Garett is a little stuffy and had a cough still but everyone else is getting better! Thank goodness! Now, if I could only get better...

Valentines Day
This year Valentines Day was different. I had to work that day to make up for all the sick time I had taken at work. Greyson was getting better and Garett was getting worse. But we made the most of it. I got some flowers, Chocolate covered strawberries and a new curling iron. I got Mike some Movies and the boys come chocolates and stuffed animals. We ate Steak and Lobster that Mike made and it was yummy!
The boys had their Valentines Parties that week at School and we made these fun Play Doh printables to give to their classes. Greyson didn't go to school for his party because we found out the day before he had RSV, so more rest and relaxing for him. Gavin got a lot of stuff! It was a good Valentines this year!

When we are Sick
On Sunday, February 8th, Mike and I had to talk in Sacrament meeting. The boys weren't feeling good, especially Greyson (See next post) so we pulled the mattress up from down stairs and let them relax watching TV while Mike and I took turns giving talks and being with them. It was crazy.
Croup...Again
We have been Sick, Sick, Sick this month. It all started on February 4th when Greyson came home from Preschool with a fever. He said his tummy hurt. On Thursday he was a little better and Friday he was coughing and wheezing. Friday night, the 6th, he woke up at 11:30 freaking out because he couldn't breathe and wanted to go to the hospital. It was 58* outside so that wasn't helping. He got a breathing treatment and steroids and we were hoping that that would be the end of it. Stay tuned...
It wouldn't be 5 weeks later without a trip to the ER with Grey |
Krispy Kreme Field Trip
At the end of January Greyson's Preschool class got to go on a Krispy Kreme field trip. He learned about how the dough was made, cooked and iced to make doughnuts. Then we got to have a doughnut. It was a fun trip and good learning time.

This Boy
Greyson lately has been asking if he can take pictures with my phone. Gavin used to do it all the time to, so it is part of the territory. After he uses my phone, I go through and delete all the photos because they are crap, but I came upon this one that I LOVE!!!!!
