Finally Home

By now, most of you have already guessed it & Grandma Lorie passed away last Friday night peacefully, surrounded by her family. They did decided to take her off life support & she passed away about 1/2 hour after they took her off.

Saturday, Mike had to work, so I hung out with my good friend Jessi - We try to do lunch together once a month & catch up with each other. We found out Saturday that the Funeral would be Tuesday (Yesterday), so we scrambled to find plane tickets & a place for Bear. We found plane tickets finally about 5 pm Saturday for Sunday morning early to Phoenix & a flight back really early for this morning. We booked them & got a pretty good deal. Mike & I both had 3 day bereavement leave, so this flight schedule worked out great.

We did fly out early Sunday morning to Beautiful Phoenix, AZ -
What a beautiful day there. We didn't get very much sleep Saturday night & had to be at the Airport at 7am for our flight. We hung out with family on Sunday & did everything we could do to help with Funeral arrangements.

Monday was much the same, we didn't get very much sleep Sunday night, but we did a lot to help with the Funeral arrangements. I did get sun burnt that day, which is kinda nice, because I feel like we haven't seen the sun this year.

Tuesday was the Funeral. Grandma was Lutheran, so that was an interesting Funeral to go to. They didn't even mention anything in the service about Grandma & her life & what she did, it was basically a Worship Service. All I could think about the whole service was, I can't wait until next Testimony meeting, to bear my testimony of the Gospel. That a humbling experience. It was an emotional day for all. We went to the grave site & place flowers by Grandma Lorie & also Grandma & Grandpa O (Grandma Lorie's parents) & Grandma & Grandpa Wallenberg's graves. It was a peaceful day. After that, Grandpa Vince wanted to get pictures of the family in their Sunday best.

It was a nice day. I met all of Mike's cousins & Aunts & Uncles. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything in the world, even though the reason we got together wasn't the best of circumstances, it was still a humbling experience.

Today, our flight was bright & early in the morning. We had to be at the Airport by 4:30am. We didn't get much sleep at all this trip, so it has been a relaxing, quiet, & nap taking day. I hope Mike & I are ready to go back to work tomorrow.

Thank you all for your prayers for the family. We really felt them & are extremely grateful for all the love & support that has been shown to our family in this time of need!

Grandma Wallenberg

Mike's Grandma, Lorabell Wallenberg, is not doing to well. When we were in Arizona last month, she looked alright, but was in a lot of pain. We got a phone call last night during American Idol from Mike's Dad saying that Grandma Lorie went to the Hospital on Tuesday the 15th complaining of back pains. She went into surgery & flat lined on the table. They got her back after a while, but she has been unresponsive since. Please keep Grandma Lori & our family in your prayers at this time! Thanks & Love you all!

UPDATE...

Mike just heard from his dad & they are going to take Grandma off Life Support today after all her children are there & can say goodbye. Please again continue to pray for our family at this difficult time! Thanks for your support!

Another UPDATE...

The Family has decided to run more blood tests & then make there decision based on the tests whether or not they will take Grandma off Life Support. They spoke with another Nuro Specialist regarding her brain damage, so I will keep you updated on what is decided!

Kyler's Birthday Party & Weekend Update

Alrighty then...It has been a CRAZY BUSY weekend & Monday we have had in our Family. Friday night Mike had to work late (until 11pm) so I just relaxed & enjoyed the house to myself with Bear (which I do a lot of lately) & baked! (I made Banana Bread YUM!)

Saturday Mike had to be at work at 6am, so I got up about 8am & cleaned the house & got ready to meet Mike at 10am for his lunch break. We went shopping & did the usually Saturday "lunch" routine. Saturday night we went up to Mike's Sister's house in Timberlakes (Heber) & had a Birthday Party for our Nephew who just turned 6. I can't believe he is already 6, when I met him for the first time, he was 2! I can't believe how fast they grow up. Here are some pix from the party:
This is Kyler with the Soccer Ball we gave him for his Birthday

This is Kyler & Jaden getting ready to open up presents (Jaden helped:)

Kyler getting ready to Blow out his Birthday Candles

It was a fun time & good to catch up with the family because we haven't gotten together with them since Jaden's birthday party last December! Crazy. Here is a picture of Gus - He is Mike's Sister's new puppy...he is cute!

Sunday we got out of church at 6pm (only 1 more week of this & we will be going at 9am - I can't wait) & Ben & Sarah came over for dindin. It was such a beautiful day, we had a BBQ. It was so nice.

Yesterday I had to work, but Mike had the day off. I had to get off work early, because I had a Dr. Appt. After that we came home & had a guy come talk to Mike about the Navy. That was interesting. After that, we had a viewing to go to! Sad, but like my mom says, there is only 1 way out of this life & it is death. & I held the CUTEST 4 week old baby boy last night. It makes me want to have one of my own. Maybe someday. I bought Juno today, so maybe in the next couple days, we will get around to watching that, I will let you know what I think! Well, there is our weekend & Monday in a nutshell. Hope all is going well for those out there who read this.

The dream I have

My dream is about a bike that I want. It is a bike that is made in Italy. The home of the Lamborgini. Lamborgini is to cars as this Aporilia to bikes. Its a 1000 cc motorcycle that was shipped to Utah only one was sent here out of 15. It is not like other bullet bikes it doesn't have the rappy high pitch sound but has a sound of a cruiser. Its has the V twin in it. It is there race sceam and has been built to handle any thing that is put in front of it. I love it. The price is $15,000. Alicia likes the bike but says its to much unless we find a money tree. Here are some pictures enjoy.

Weekend Updated

Here is a Weekend update from us Wallenberg's. I had a really low key weekend. Mike & I had a date night on Friday night, as you can see from my last post, that was fun, until we got home. We were both extremely beat, we haven't been sleeping very good at night for about a week & we just pushed each others buttons. Needless to say, we didn't get very much sleep Friday night either. We finally resolved our differences & apologized to each other & got over it.

Saturday I hung out at home & watched General Conference while cleaning up the house & washing Bears EXTREMELY DIRTY toys. Mike had to work Saturday from 8-5, so we did lunch together. Saturday night we just watched movies & slept!

Sunday I watched General Conference (which I must say was the best 2 sessions that I think I have heard in a long time) & you guessed it, Mike had to work 8-4. Ben & Sarah (My brother & is on-again, off-again girlfriend - Still love you Sarah) came over for dinner. We had Ham, Potatoes & Hot rolls! YUM, I am getting hungry just thinking about it. We watched "Dan in Real Life" & Mike & Ben weren't really into it, but Sarah & I thought it was an interesting movie. It was a nice relaxing Sunday. We then went to bed after Ben & Sarah left so that we would be refreshed & ready to start a new week at work. Needless to say, I wasn't really ready. All in all, it was a nice weekend! This weekend, we will be heading up to Mike's sister's house for our Nephew's 6th Birthday. I will update you next week on that!

DATE NIGHT!

So I had a haircut appointment tonight at 5:30pm so Mike & I decided to make a Date Night out of it! Here is a recap of our night: I got off work at 4:30pm & went to La Villa in Lehi for my haircut appointment...here is a pix -Anyway...I really like it, I got it cut the same as last time, but shorter bangs & more chunking at the bottom...Love it!

After my haircut, we drove down to Sandy to eat at my FAVORITE Mexican Restaurant La Frontera. I love that place. We then drove across the street to South Towne Mall & spent the next hour and a half walking around looking for birthday presents for upcoming birthdays in the family. It was just a fun night. I love hanging out & spending time with my Husband. No matter what we do, we always make it fun...Thanks for the Date babe! Love ya.

Oh What a Week

So if you read my weekend recap post, you would have know that I needed to go shopping last weekend for new work "Business Professional" clothes. I found 3 pairs of nice dress pants, a nice dress shirt & a jacket to match a pair of pants. We bought all of these for under $100 & I was extremely pleased this week wearing them & getting all different compliments. But what I have found out is that I am the only one who has done something different with this new dress code. Everyone is still wearing the same things...& if I say so myself, they are not very "Business Professional." Anyway, I am just glad that I spent the extra money to make myself feel better & become more Business Professional.

Also, my boss asked me today if I had any "big" plans for the weekend...I told her no, just sitting at home & watching conference. My Boss isn't LDS, but she never ceases to amaze me. We talked for about an hour about conference and how she is excited about Pres. Monson & his first Conference as President & Prophet of the church. She was excited to watch it as well, which got me thinking. You can't even get Members of the LDS Faith to sit down & watch, but this little Catholic boss of my was going to take a whole weekend out of her life to watch this.

I just realized that there are chances & opportunities all around me for knowledge & love & faith & I wonder if I take every chance that comes along...& I don't think I do, because I am scared of the outcome. I just wanted to take a minute of my ranting to tell everyone that reads this to take a chance on Faith or Religion the next time it comes up & I will do the same, & together, maybe we will make our life, or maybe even the world a better place.
