Sleep?

So for the last week or so Gavin has officially been sleeping through the night! I didn't think this day would ever get here, but now that it is, I am bummed! I really did like those early morning feedings with just me & him.

Now that I have said he is "officially" been sleeping through the night, he probably won't for a while! We will see!

A Year Later

On this day last year, I called in sick to work (even though I wasn't) & took Mike to the Navy Recruiting office in Provo to be sworn in as part of the Navy. We then drove to Salt Lake & I dropped him off at a Hotel down there for him to stay the night before heading to Illinois for Basic Training. I can't even believe it has been a year. We have made it through some big obstacles! 1 year down - 5 more to go!

I am grateful for the option we have that the Navy gives us. If something were to ever happen, if we were to lose a job or something that way, we can always go into the Navy full time for added security. We would have to move to a coast & there is more possibility for Mike to be deployed, but it is always nice to remember that we have a back up plan just in case something happens.

3 Years!

Since no one at my work really cares, I will blog about it! I have officially worked at my job for 3 years! This is a HUGE accomplishment for me & the longest I have been at a job in my working adult life...I think it is time for a change! Kidding! Happy 3 years to me!

5 Months Old!

Gavin turned 5 months old last Sunday...so before I forget everything I was going to blog about him, I had better do this post. I don' t know how much he weighs, but he is a chunk & you can take my word for it. He has been sleeping better through the night, but still has a 2am episode every week. He still hates tummy time & has only rolled over twice both times from his stomach to his back. He is moving around so much that you put him in his crib for bed one way & when you go get him for his feeding, he is the other direction! He is officially over his swing. Last month, he would only nap in his swing...this month, he naps in his crib! YAY for us. So we are going to take the swing down so we have more room. He loves, loves, loves his jumperoo & would stay in it all day...he would even sleep in it. He gets mad at us for taking him out if he isn't done in it. He loves playing with/eating anything he can get his hands on. He loves peek-a-boo & patty cake, they are fun games for him. One more month & we can start "solids." I am having mixed feelings about starting solids, but mostly I am super excited. Just a new stage for the little guy! He is a super cute kid & we are glad he is in our family!

He loves to Stand

Gavin does good sitting on his own so far, he is still a little top heavy, but he is getting it!

Gavin's first offical "bump" on his head

I was changing Gavin's diaper on his changing table & he rolled onto his side & hit his head on the edge of his crib! SAD!

Sewing Skills!

Last November, my friend Jessi taught me how to make baby blankets & burp cloths. My friend Marissa is having a baby girl next month, I am so super excited for her, so I put my sewing skills to good use & made her a matching baby blanket, burp cloths, and a heating pad. If you like what you see, let me know. They are super fun & way easy. I have 4 sets of these blankets & burp cloths I made for Gavin.

Gavin Photo Shoot

For the last several weeks, my plan has been to go to a park in the area & take some cutsey pictures of my baby boy. It didn't happen until last weekend. Here is what I came up with. I am hoping to get out again this Saturday with Mike in the afternoon & get some other pictures with us. Enjoy the pictures. PS - this post will be picture OVERLOAD!

Picnic Play Date

Last Saturday, Gavin & I had a play date with Jessi & Madi. It was super fun & a much needed girls day + Gavin. Jessi & Madi came out to the house & saw Gavin's room. We got the kids ready & headed out to Subway. We got ourselves some lunch & ended up at a Park in the Ranches out in EM. We spent the afternoon eating, catching up & playing with the babies. Madi & about 3 weeks younger than Gavin & I was in HEAVEN with her. Compared to my 14 pound chunk, she was a beautiful little girl. She was so light, I could have carried her around all day! By the end of the afternoon, we had tuckered the babies right out! Thanks Jessi & Madi for the great afternoon & can't wait for our next play date at the end of the month & many more months to follow. Gavin & Madi will be great friends! Enjoy the pictures!

The Mother of all Blowouts!

Gavin had the worst blowout today! It is the most disgusting we have ever seen in our whole lives...but we need to blog about it! I hung out with my friend Jessi today & was telling her that I think our blogs have turned into our children's journals. So, here is another Gavin post for his "journal." Hope you enjoy these gross beyond gross pictures of this amazing blowout he had.

GROSSNESS!
