30 Weeks

Wow - It has been a CRAZY month for us this month! Just kidding! We have been so bored/boring that we have done nothing fun to blog about. I hit the 30 week mark last Tuesday. On Wednesday I had another Ultrasound to check the distance from my Cervix to my Placenta. The Ultrasound Tech LITERALLY measured it for every angle imaginable. Even Vaginally! (Sorry) Every which way she measured it it came out above 2 cm! Can you believe it? I sort of can't! We went to my Doctors Appointment on Friday and the Doctor reviewed the measurements & we have decided that everything is good to go from here and we can have (hopefully) a normal vaginal delivery! I am so super excited to continue on with this pregnancy without the thought of a planned c-section or bleeding out dramatically! We won't even need to do another ultrasound because the Doctor said it will just continue to move up a little bit as the baby grows bigger. He weighed 3 lbs 10 ounces at the ultrasound which isn't exactly accurate, but he is growing. I am also measuring right on, so hopefully the next 9 weeks will go off without a hitch and everything will work out incredibly! Other then that, we are on to every 2 weeks appointments now and we are close to the end! Kind of can't wait to get my body back and continue on with this journey. Enjoy the 30 week picture!

28 Weeks

I am officially into my third trimester! Only 12 weeks left...give or take (probably and hopefully take) We went to the doctor this week for our check up and to discuss the placenta issue. His theory and thinking is that between 20-30 weeks it is most likely to move. Which is true in my case because at 20 weeks it was 1.25 cm away from my cervix and at 24 weeks it was .55 cm away...talk about a move! So we will have another ultrasound at 30 weeks to see where it is measuring. Doctor says it is less likely to move after 30 weeks because the baby is growing and pushing it into its place and taking up all the left over space in my belly, it really has no where else to go but to stay in the place it lands at 30 weeks. After that ultrasound I have another appointment with the Dr. to discuss that ultrasound reading and we will go from there. If he feels it is necessary, we will do another ultrasound at 37 weeks to get that reading and another one at 39 weeks (If I make it that long, I didn't with Gavin) and decide from there. I have also been put on a limit light duty type of schedule. I am not supposed to lift heavy things, taking it easy and if I start "pouring out blood" as the Dr. put it, to go straight to the hospital and call him on our way. Oh joy. So that is where we are at. If I were to go into labor right now, I would have an emergency c-section because my Dr. won't deliver me with how close my placenta is. But we will just have to play it by ear and see if it moves and is 2 cm away from my cervix for a vaginal delivery. In the mean time, enjoy my 28 week picture. We are getting closer!

Breaking and Entering

On January 25th we had a little incident. Let me set it up for you:

For about a month now Gavin has been able to reach the door knobs on doors, he can't turn them, but he can reach them. Then a couple weeks later we discovered that we was able to turn the lock on the handle of the Front and Garage Doors to lock them. I came home from work one day and the door from the Garage was locked, Gavin was inside, with the babysitter, but was HYSTERICAL beyond all reason because I wasn't coming in. I was trying to unlock the door with the key and he was trying to unlock it for me & the babysitter had to finally unlock the door for us so I could get in to comfort him.

Fastforward a week. Mike went outside from the Garage to get the mail and take out some garbage, he comes back to the door only to find it locked. Gavin had locked it as soon as Mike left the house. The Front door was also locked. Mike didn't have a key and Gavin was growing more and more unconsolable. Mike had to kick down the door to get inside! It was tramatic for all of us, but it was the only he could do to get inside. Needless to say, we now have a hide a key outside & will be giving our neighbors a key just in case. We don't need anything like that happening again!

26 Weeks

Here I am in all my 26 week glory! We took this picture last week. I am 27 weeks today! Can't wait to go to my Dr. Appointment next week & be in the 3rd trimester!

Play Place

Gavin has a new favorite play place. He loves it when we take down the gate to the stairs, he scurries down there and plays on the carpet between the downstairs door and the stairs. He hates it when we put the gate back up or make him come back upstairs.
