Jackson Hole

I just wanted to update the blog really quick before I hit the sack. Gavin & I went to Jackson Hole last weekend. All by ourselves...Friday morning we woke up at 5am, I feed Gavin & we were off. Mike got home from work just in time to see us off. I still can't believe that Home Depot wouldn't let him go with us, but we had a great time & he got to sleep without having to worry about taking care of Gavin.

We got up to McCammon in Idaho at 9am & I feed Gavin there & then we made it the rest of the way to the camp site by 11:30am. When we got there it was Raining & yucky but by noon, it had turned into a beautiful day. We had decided to go into Jackson that afternoon & piddle around there. After we got back to Camp, it had started to rain again, but only rained for about 30 minutes or so...nothing bad at all...that is when Gavin got his best sleep. There was a group of rafters across the camp site from us & the rangers were there on Friday talking to them. We saw them packing up & thought that the rangers were kicking them out because they had a ton of people in there site, so we went down to the camp hosts to buy that camp site for the night so I could park my car. We got talking to the camp hosts & they said that they had an accident & a leader fell in the river & didn't come back up in time. We stopped at there camp site on the way back & asked what happened, they said that they went through a rapid & 4 fell out. The leader didn't come back up in time & when he did, wasn't breathing. They rushed him to the hospital, but it didn't look it! It broke my heart...If you are going to to White Water Rafting on the Snake River, please know what you are doing. A friend of mine said he fell out on the Rapid "Three Ordeal" which is not a safe rapid it all. It has the saying..."If it's high, you die, if it's low, no go!" We looked over the weekend to see if there was anything reported, but couldn't find anything.

Saturday no one wanted to go on the river...we had all had our fear level taken up a notch to hear about the leader in that group, so we played around camp & had nice family time & packed up to go home. It was a rough ride home...one that I don't plan on doing again without someone. Thanks so much to my mommy for riding with me from Brigham City to Lehi...I don't know what I would have done without you. Love you & thanks for the great weekend! Enjoy the pictures.

Memorial Day Weekend/Siblings Dinner

I better blog about this weekend before I forget about it. For Memorial Day weekend my cute sissy Cathy came up from New Mexico & my other cute sissy Wendy came down from Idaho. Wendy is getting married in July...only 1 month left...so we got a lot of things done for her wedding. We got a lot of shopping done & figured out what we were going to wear & took some cute Bridal Pictures of Wendy...will blog about this later.

The best day of the weekend was Sunday when we all went to my brother Ben's & his wife Sarah's house for dindin. We had an amazing roast & veggies & some great cake. It was a great night to get together as siblings...minus Jason...without parents & with our spouses...minus Andrew...& have a great night of talking, laughing, reminiscing of growing up & poking fun at the 3 wolves howling at the moon t-shirt! I am so glad that we are as close as we are as family. I wish we all lived closer to each other, but we make it work. Thanks for the great weekend Ben, Cathy & Wendy! I love you all so much & we missed you terribly Jason...maybe next time!

H1N1

Guess who had to take the H1N1 (Swine Flu) test today...Yep...Me! It did come back negative, but it is the most uncomfortable "test" ever. I am still not feeling good & I am hoping & praying that I don't give it to Mike & Gavin, but we are getting through it...1 hour at a time.

It all started last night. I came home from work, played with Gavin for a while & about 6, started feeling dizzy, cold & sick. The room felt like it was spinning. I didn't think anything about it, took care of Gavin for the night & went straight to bed after I put Gavin down. Gavin woke up for a 2:15 feeding, I felt fine. He woke up again for a 5:15 feeding, again I felt fine. Mike came home about 6 & I started coughing. I got ready for the day & as I was driving to work, I started to feel more & more sick. I couldn't breathe & my chest was really tight. Almost 2 years ago I started to feel like this & we went to the Dr. & it was my asthma. As I was driving to work this morning, that is what came to my mind. I didn't have my inhaler with me, so I decided I would see how long I could make it. I talked to my boss & she reminded me that I had my nebulizer in the car. I did a treatment of that but it didn't seem to work. About 11 I called Mike & told him I needed to see the Dr. because I wasn't getting any better, it was getting worse. We went to the Dr. & were shocked to find out I had a fever & that the Dr. thought it was Swine Flu. The test did come back Negative, but with my asthma, the Dr didn't want to risk it so I am on meds & can't go back to work until my fever is gone & we know what kind of flu it is (according to my boss) I am still not feeling any better tonight, but haven't thrown up yet...YAY!

Please keep us in your prayers that I recover from this quickly & that Mike & Gavin don't get this!

Drill Weekend...Family Addition

This past weekend, the Navy held there annual Drill weekend for Families. It was a sad, rainy Saturday, but we made the most of it. They had several tents set up for the USAA Bank, TriWest/TriCare insurance, Military One Source, and several other services there. Gavin did so good, He slept most of the day in his carrier, except when he was hungry! What a good kid. They also had Bouncy toys for the kids...
Awesome Off Roading Vehicles...
A Dunk Tank to dunk the Captains!
A rock wall...
Really good food...

It was also the day for Divine intervention. I don't know if I am more in tune to it lately, if I need it or what, but it seems I have had a lot of it lately. A couple people came up to us & it seemed like they just told us exactly what we needed to hear at the time we needed to hear it...& we have never even met these people or talked to them or anything. Crazy! Needless to say, we learned a lot of info, heard a lot of things that obviously we needed to hear & had a lot to think about over the weekend!

Weight Loss - Active

So I haven't lost the pregnancy weight I put on yet, not that I was expecting to, but I have actually gained back some that I lost about a month after Gavin was born. We bought a Wii in April & got the Wii Fit to go with it. It is fun to do, but it's not really the exercise I want to do. So last month the EA Sports game Active for Wii came out! I love it! It is a 20-30 minute exercises 5 days a week that literally kicks my butt. I am sweating profusely after every workout! I have really been slacking at it lately, but will get back in the routine so by Wendy's wedding, I will look good in our black on black dresses!

3 Months

Gavin is 3 Months old. He turned 3 months old Tuesday. What a cutie if I do say so myself. New things he is doing this month...

*He loves to look at his Mobiles...the Crib mobile & the swing mobile

*He loves to raise his arm & point at things...I don't have a picture of this yet, but we are working on it

*He is becoming more & more aware of his hands & feet, even though he hasn't quite discovered them yet, it will be soon

*He holds his head up really well now & when you prop him up supporting him, he sits really well

*He is starting to smile a lot more & is giggling. He really likes to smile & giggle when he is on the changing table getting his diaper changed

*He is checking things out more & more...he likes to turn his head from side to side to see different things

*He now rubs his eyes when he is tired

*He sleeps really good in his crib at night but not so much during the day...he naps in his swing

He's a keeper & we love him to pieces!

Suits

We bought these amazing suits for Gavin to wear for Wendy's Wedding in July...check them out!

LG Room Update

I have so much to blog about, but am so exhausted when I put Gavin down for the night I have only wanted to do 1 post at a time, so I can go to bed & get the most sleep I can. So here is my blog post for the day. A LG room update. We are ALMOST done with his room. All we have left to do is hang his letters for his name above his crib & hang the Cars clock & the rest of the Cars decals & we will be officially done! I can't wait & we hopefully will have it done this weekend, right before he turns 3 months. Here are some updated pictures. If you look really closely at the ones with his crib, you can see him sleeping in it. Enjoy!

Back to the Spiders

Mike came home from work this morning & showed me his ankle...it was swollen, red & gross! He was working downstairs, getting boxes ready for pickup & sorting through our yard sale stuff that hopefully soon we will be selling. He said it started itching yesterday & got worse last night when he was at work, then this morning when he got home it just started killing him. I got a phone call from him at 3 saying that he was going to go to the Doctor because the pain was getting unbearable. The Doctor thinks it is a bite of some sort (probably from working downstairs yesterday & it was probably a spider...check out my post a couple days ago! Spiders) & since is started out itching & then turned to burning & pain it was either infected & venomous. So he got a cream antibiotic to put on it twice a day & we are to watch it to make sure it gets better, not worse. If it gets worse, the he will have to go back in for a shot! Please pray that it gets better & it isn't anything worse than just a spider bite. Here are some pictures of his ankle...the picture doesn't even do it justice...it looks a lot worse than it shows & it was a lot worse this afternoon than tonight when I took the picture.

12 Weeks Old!

Our Little Guy is 12 weeks old today! I can't believe it. I was thinking back to when I was 12 weeks preggers with him. That is when I very first heard his little cute heartbeat. It was becoming so surreal & now he is actually here, & 12 weeks old, & doing all these new things. I love the LG so much & really can't imagine my life without him. It is so much better with him in it! Here are some cute Pictures of the LG!

Tummy time...He is loving it more & more each day

Play time on the playmat that Grandpa W. gave him

Bumbo Time...he loves his Bumbo

Brown Recluse

Last Friday Mike came home from work & was getting the garbages together for gargabe day. I was in the shower getting ready for the day & LG was sleeping. Mike come into the bathroom & said to me...don't get freaked out. I asked him what was going on all the time thinking that Gavin had magically jumped out of his swing or something. He told him he found a spider on the stairs & thought it was a Brown Recluse. I FREAKED out!!! I asked him to take it out of the Bathroom & he put it in a box in our dining room so that I wouldn't have to see him. Mike finally killed him Sunday afternoon before I told him that I wanted to take a picture of it for the blog...but too late. Mike did a little bit more research & "decided" it wasn't a Brown Recluse...Thankfully, but we still have ugly looking spiders in our house. So this morning he went to IFA to get a bug spray & hopefully this weekend when LG & I are out with Bear for his grooming appointment, the house will get sprayed & all the nasty bugs will die! I am not a bug fan.

Crying over split milk!

I have been saving all my posts for when we became a private blog...which is now...so be prepared to be bombarded with posts of the last 2 weeks. On the 15th (Friday) I was so excited to leave work...I pump 4 times a day at work to keep up my milk supply & have a good storage here for the LG. I was on my last pump...so excited to be done pumping for the weekend & go home to spend the weekend with my boys! I drove home, was bumping to the music, excited to be home that when I got home I was so distracted. I was playing on the computer, hanging out with Gavin because I hadn't seen him all day & giving Mike a break before he had to go to work. We had a good weekend...not thinking anything about anything.
Saturday night we cleaned the house & we have a method in our house now that when I come home from work & put the pumped milk away we put it in sandwich bags because we have had quite a few bags leak, so this saves us the wasted milk. So back to cleaning the house, I was cleaning the kitchen & noticed that there was some sandwich bags out on the counter & I kept thinking...where did these bags come from, why are they on the counter? Didn't think anything else about it & went on our marry weekend way.
Monday morning Gavin slept for the first time for 7 hours straight, so we were excited but had to change our normal morning routine, so I was rushing to get ready & get a feeding in for him before I left. I was getting my pumping stuff & bags ready & was wondering where my bag & icepacks were...they were still in the pumping bag, so I pulled them out & realized that I didn't put the milk I pumped on Friday away in the freezer! UGH!!!! I wasted like 16 or so ounces! I was so upset I cried all the way to work & then some. Even after work when Mike brought I up to me & apologized I started crying again. I had more then enough milk for Gavin to get through the day, but it is not the most comfortable thing in the world to pump.
I have had lots of thinking time since then to realize that everything worked out the way it should have, so now it is just a funny story, but I haven't forgotten about my milk since then.
