Funny Greyson

I have a funny Greyson story:

Last week as I was being set apart for my new calling (Mia Maid Advisor) (when you get a blessing or are being set apart for a calling in our church they place their hands on your head) Greyson crawled over to me and climbed up me trying to get me to pick him up.  I picked him up while Bro. Becar was still giving me a blessing and Greyson decided he want to be in on that action as well and kept smacking me on the forehead!  I thought I was pretty hilar but didn't think anything else about it.

Last night my mom and dad were in town and I asked my dad to give me a blessing.  Again in the middle of it Greyson decided it wanted to be part of it so he climbed up and smacked me on the forehead again!  At least he is paying attention so somethings!

4 Years

Only 2 more years to go Reserves and then 2 year IRR (Inactive Ready Reserve) and Mike can get out of the Navy if he wants!  He has been in the Navy for 4 years:)

He is still an E3 and is working on being promoted to Petty Officer, we will see how that goes.  If he gets bumped up to Petty Office he thinks he wants to stay in the Navy, but honestly it changes every day.  We will see what the future holds for us and the Navy!  Happy 4 Years:)

6 Years

I know I just posted about celebrating 5 years at Provo Canyon School, but today I have been with them for 6 years.  Can you believe it?  I certainly can't.  This is the LONGEST I have ever been at a job (except wife)  Crazy right?

1 Year

Today is the 1 year anniversary of Mike's job at Sinclair.  I am thankful for them and what they have done for him and taught him this last year.  I know that he is a better mechanic because of the last 15 months of Mechanic jobs he has and it will only serve him better in the future.  Happy 1 year at Sinclair:)

Weight Loss

I guess I do need to post about my weight loss stuff too.  On July 26th I hit my goal weight of 125 which means I had lost a total of 28 lbs.  Because it was still in the Month of July and we were doing our Biggest Loser Work Competition I decided to stay in the Diet/Exercise routine.  By August 1st I had lost 2 more lbs making my total lost 30.  I have since bumped up my Calories to 1550 a day and haven't worked out since last Tuesday (I needed a break)

I plan to stay round 125 lbs and tone up my flabbyness!  It has been hard but so fun finding out exercises I like to do and good food to eat that is healthy.  This challenge has also help us all start eating healthy and we do eat a lot more fruits and veggies now:)

Family Update

So I have basically updated the blog through today but I wanted to update on what we have been up to recently and what is going on the next month or so.

*We have been selling ALL our stuff on the EM 24/7 Yard Sale FB page:)  Getting that Vacay money and cleaning out our basement somehow!

*We have been working on a little reading nook in the boys' room.  We bought a table and chairs from Ikea last year and decided it was time to put it together and start using it.  We should have the nook done today and I will post before and after photos.

*I am still working on Gavin's Time out Chair.  We have been using it even though it isn't "done" but that is on my todo list to get done after the Reading Nook.  I will post pictures of that too.

*I am getting a new calling...Can't say what it is yet, but will update next week.  I will miss the library:(...

*Mike has a 2nd call back job interview today.  I am hoping this is the "break" we need.  I am just praying, and fasting that it is what our family needs at this time.  I will keep you updated on that as well.

*Gavin will be starting Preschool on September 5th.  It will be Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9:30-11:30.  He will also be starting a Music class on August 21st that will be Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30.  So excited for all the new things he will be doing and learing in the next couple months.

*I have been thinking a lot lately about how so much changes in a year.  Last year at this time, Mike was just fired from his job and we were scrambling for a new one to keep our family afloat.  This year he is interviewing for a hopefully better company and job and position with advancement that will be better in the long run for us.  I just can't help but think of all the growth we have done the last year:)

*August is JAM PACKED with our Work anniversarys.  What can we say, we do a lot in August.

We have lots more fun stuff planned for this summer, hanging out with friends, some baby blessings, School starting.  I can't believe how fast time flies!

Jackson Hole

This Year I took the Kids up to Jackson Hole camping with my family the end of June.  I was a little worried about a 5 hour drive with 2 kids and camping with 2 kids by myself, but we survived.  And we had a great time:)  Gavin talks about going Camping all the time now.

We arrived Thursday about 11 and off we went getting dirty, hanging with family and going to Jackson Hole for some Fun.  We stayed in the tent with Aunt Cathy and the boys slept so good.  Because of Camping we stopped the morning nurse with Greyson and put the boys in the same room!

Jackson Hole was fun.  Gavin was tired but he loved running in the park and looking at the stuff in all the shops there.  I hope that we get to go camping more often in the future!

15 Months

Greyson is 15 months old.  WOW!  Here is what he has been up to:

He is not completely walking but he will stand up in the middle of the room and take a couple straight legged steps before deciding to fall and crawl.

He loves music and will bop to it whenever it is on.

He is an early climber.  He will climb on the chairs in the kitchen, on the couch, chair, bed, whatever he can try.  He will also climb off things too, the couch, chairs, you.  He is a dare devil.

He will only eat if he feeds himself!  And he only likes the basics now too, chicken nuggets, Mac & Cheese, string cheese, Milk.  He loves fruit snacks and goldfish but won't eat Alfredo pasta anymore.

He is still in 12 month clothes, size 3 diapers and size 3 shoes.

He is my little bean pole, when we took him to the dr for his Stomach issues he only weighted 18 lbs 13.5 ozs.

Just to add this this little guys asthma, tonsils and adnoeids and just plain teething and growing issues, he also has digestive problems. :(

Words he says: Ma, Da, Done, Hi, Bye, Go, Aci (Jaci, babysitter's daughter) No, Thank you, Please, More and I am sure he says more, I just can't remember.

He loves to ride in the car, he loves baths and it never fails to cheer him up, and he loves to try to play with his brother :)

He is a biter:( How do you get your 15 month old to stop biting?

He is a cars boy, he loves to play with cars and that is all he would prefer to play with.

He also loves to be outside.  If he is upset, take him outside or give him a Bath and he will be the happiest boy ever.

We just love this cute little ball of energy:)

Proof that he is a climber:)

SHeDaisy

Mike and I FINALLY got a date night on July 21st.  SHeDaisy was playing at the American Fork "Steel Days" and I decided I wanted to go see them.  It was a great concert, on a great night with great Fireworks and a great guy!  Hopefully we can start going on more dates:)

5th Year

On July 17th my Company (Provo Canyon School) celebrated all the employees who have been with the company 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 & 30 years.  It is my 5th year!

We went to lunch at La Jolla Groves in Provo, and had a ceremony with all the people who had reached their year of employment.  It was a great celebration.

Garbage Truck

Our Garbage man comes on Mondays and Gavin & Greyson get so excited to see him.  They stay at the window when they first hear him until he passes our house.  So cute:)

Potty Training {Again}

Last weekend, July 28th, Mike had Saturday off, so we decided that we would Potty Train...and stick to it!  The Thursday before I told Gavin no more TV until he went pee pee in the big boy potty.  On Friday we got him all excited for it showing him his Potty box and all the fun stuff he would get if he went potty in the big boy potty.  The babysitter even got into it and told him he would be a big boy if he went potty in the big boy potty:)

So Saturday arrived and we got him ready and pumping fluids into him at 8:30.  I bought a potty doll that showed him what to do and what happened if there was an accident.  Then every 15 minutes I would have him sit on the potty for about 15ish minutes.  If he didn't pee, I would give him a little sticker to put on the Potty Chart on the "Sits on the Potty" side as well as a treat.  He didn't want to wear his big boy underwear, so we let him go nekkid.  By 10 I could tell he had to pee, but he just wouldn't.  We tried everything, putting his hand in warm water, running water, pushing his bladder.  He wasn't peeing.  At about 10:30 Mike started playing with water dumping it back and forth between containers.  As soon as he did that, Gavin finally peed.  It was all downhill from there.  After he peed, he got a big star sticker on the "Pee Pees in the Potty" side of the Potty Chart and got to pick out a prize from the Potty box, as well as he got to call someone on the phone and tell them he went potty on the big boy potty and got a prize.  He did have an accident during nap time because we left him in underwear, but did so great the rest of the day.

On Sunday he did have a poop accident but he also pooped in the big boy potty:)  He has done so good since then with NO ACCIDENTS:)

We have still been keeping a diaper on him for Nap and Bedtime, but we will work on these (he actually didn't have an accident yesterday during nap time with big boy underware on)

So there you have it.  Gavin is Day Time potty trained, and it was pretty easy!

Potty Chart Day 1

Potty Chart Day 2

Bath Time

I never ever thought this day would come:)

Greyson LOVES the bath and recently Gavin has been noticing how much fun Greyson has in the bath, so he decided to join him and now Gavin will only take baths and does so much better in the water.

4th of July

This Year for the 4th of July we took the boys to Breakfast at Ihop, went and found a Trampoline Fun Place to play around, saw my Parents and watched fireworks.

Gavin had so much fun at the Trampoline place, he loved jumping and running around.  Greyson didn't like it so much.

Both boys loved the fireworks and probably wished we would have done more.  They both loved holding the sparklers.  Gavin loved it when the Jets flew by...ALL 10 TIMES!

It was a great Holiday and I am glad we got to spend it all together as a family:)
