Thirty-One

Mike had a BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday! He turned the big THIRTY-ONE on Sunday the 8th. Lucky guy. He wanted to Lobster Tails, Mussels and Angry Birds Cupcakes for his birthday. So he made the Lobster Tails and Mussels and I made the Angry Birds Cupcakes & Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Yum yum. Even Gavin loved the Lobster Tails. We got him some "Navy" hats and tools for his birthday. Gavin and Greyson had a great time trying on the hats for dad. Happy Birthday Mike! We hope this year is everything you want it to be! We love you

9 Months - WOW

Greyson is now 9 months old! Lets catch up with him...shall we?

*I took him to the Dr. on Friday and he weighed 17 lbs 15.5 ozs.

*He is now in 12 month clothes. Still in size 2 diapers but only because I want to use them all...He should be in size 3.

*He is an amazing eater. He eats his solids 3 times a day & loves to eat everything. He then eats dinner with us as well. He loves rice, bread but doesn't like potatoes or pasta. He also still nurses 5 times a day! No wonder he is 18 lbs!

*He is now rolling both ways, finally. He is starting to like being on his belly now as well. We might have a crawler on our hands soon? He is trying to be on the move more and more.

*He is a HORRIBLE sleeper all of a sudden. He wakes up at 11:30ish, 1ish, 3ish and then 4:45ish to eat. We don't know why he is waking up but it is sure killing me! He is still napping about 3 times a day because of the horrible nights sleep.

*We took him to the Dr. on Friday & the Dr. said he has Allergies on top of a virus on top of teething. BLAH!

*Speaking of teeth, he now has 6! I would totally be okay if he stopped teething for a hot minute! Either that or it is time to start weaning!

*He loves his jumperoo, loves to wiggle when you are changing his diaper & try to reach for anything and everything on the floor he can. He also loves sitting in the high chair and feeding himself those Gerber snacks while I make dinner or clean. He also loves to stand. He will grab your hands, shirt anything he can get to to try to stand up!

*He is still a big time momma's boy!

*He is a clapper now and claps his hands together.

He is our cute little charmer and we love him!

Kidney Stones Much?

On Tuesday the 10th, Mike called me about 1 in the afternoon and said he was in pain & it felt like he had Kidney Stones again. He was at work and was going to try to work through the pain. At about 3:30 he called me again & said he was in so much pain he was going to go to the ER at St. Marks. They did some blood work and stuff, and sure enough he had Kidney Stones. They released him, gave him some meds and sent him on his way. When he got home that night he was feeling so much better, he got up Wednesday and went to work because he was feeling good.

On Wednesday he was at work and called me at 2 saying he was in pain again. At about 2:30 he said he couldn't work anymore he needed to go home and see if he could pass the Kidney Stone. He was in pain all evening long. That night, we got him a Priesthood Blessing and went to bed hoping the next day would be better.

Thursday early morning at 3:30, Mike came in and told me he was in so much pain that he was going to drive himself to the ER. I jumped right up out of bed, got the boys ready and we were off the the American Fork ER. They got him all hooked up with meds. did a CT and found a 7mm Kidney Stone right in the middle of his Kidney. They were guessing it was stuck, which is why he was in so much pain and referred us to a Urologist. The stone would have to be broken up if he wanted to pass it. Thursday afternoon we met with the Urologist who did an x-ray to see if they could see the Kidney Stone with their x-ray machine & they could, so they gave Mike the option of Lithotripsy (breaking up the Kidney Stone) or going directly in and removing it. Mike opted for Lithotripsy. We got it scheduled for Friday the 13th... We got Mike another Priesthood Blessing Thursday night as well.

We needed to be at the hospital at 7:45 on Friday but literally just as we left the house they called & said they were pushed back & not to be there until 8:45. So we drove around and hung out and made it to the hospital at about 8:30ish. Got Mike all checked in, he was prepped, had another x-ray. The Dr. doing the surgery came in and talked to us, as well as the Anesthesiologist and Nurses. He was taken back at 10:45 and they call me at 11:26 saying he was done. We were in the hospital until about 3 trying to get Mike's pain under control and to hear from the Dr. on how the surgery went any everything.

By Monday the 16th Mike was feeling better and back to work. He passed most of the broken up Kidney Stones on Monday when he got home from work. He is now back to normal!

I am thankful for Priesthood Blessings, Insurance, Drs. who were not very nice, but at least know what they are doing. I am thankful for my job that let me take 2 days off on a whim to be with Mike and for Mike's work for being so understanding about this whole situation. Wow...It has been a Crazy 2012 so far!

Gavin's Weight & Other Tidbits

This kid is so OCD (see picture above.) Here he is cleaning a ball from one of Greyson's toys after Greyson stuck it in his mouth. That is all he did yesterday, cleaned with a wet one all the toys that Greyson would put in his mouth.

He is also so OCD about his hands being clean. That is why I think he refuses to feed himself, because he still can't eat with a fork or spoon really well yet but he REFUSES to use his hands. I tried to get him to eat a cupcake on Mike's birthday & he wouldn't touch it and after I shoved his hands in the frosting he sat there with his hands in the air crying until we cleaned them off. Where did I go wrong?

I just wanted to remember that on 1/15 we weighed Gavin at home on our scale & he weighed 28.2 lbs! Love this little boy! He is getting so big!

Engagement Story

7 Years ago today Mike proposed to me & I said yes. We started planning our wedding. I haven't ever blogged about our Engagement story, I though I had better do that so we can have it for memory sake!

It was January 15th, 2005. 1 week after Mike's birthday. It was a Saturday and I had to work (I worked at Fastbucks at the time) from 10-2. Mike said he would pick me up from work. He came and gave me some roses & we drove up to Heber to OK3 Air. I had no idea what we were doing. We got into a little 4 seater Puddle Jumper plane and flew down Provo Canyon to fly over the MT. Timpanogos Temple. As soon as we were over it, Mike got down on one knee and proposed. I was FREAKING OUT so bad, all I could do was nod. I just didn't want to die! We then flew back to Heber, got back on the ground and were OFFICIALLY ENGAGED! We drove to Arby's to eat us some lunch and then went down to Mike's Cousin's house for a party. I don't remember what the party was for, but we then started planning a wedding!

That is our story...Different and fun! I am glad I didn't die:)

2012 New Years Resolutions

It is that time of year again...To start thinking about New Years Resolutions. Here are mine.

*Start working on getting the basement finished, at least the bedroom down stairs so Mike & I can move down there, move the boys into the master upstairs and make their bedroom a toy room/Office? That will then open up the living room more.

*After I am done nursing, I am going to lose some baby weight! So excited for that!

*Now that Christmas is over, start saving some money for the basement finish fund, the new yard fund, the new carpet/tile floor fund & for next Christmas...

*Take a family vacation...Whether it be to New Mexico/Arizona again or Jackson Hole, Take a family vacation.

*Continue Family Prayer. Start family scripture study!

*Take more pictures!

I really think that is it. It was a tough year for us last year, but somehow we made it through! 2012 it our year!
