Climber

Gavin has officially hit the climbing stage of life. He will move chairs & climb up them to see what we are doing. Move chairs to climb on them & then on to something different like our Computer Desk. He climbs on the bed, couch, box of new Pots & Pans I got for Christmas, toys that he got for Christmas. He even tries to climb on the new Toy Box we made him for Christmas, but since it doesn't have any easy access points, he slides right off. Pretty soon he will be climbing out of his bed & we will have to get a toddler bed for him or turn his crib into the toddler bed & get a new crib for Greyson. Crazy kid, hopefully he doesn't kill himself or hurt himself badly!

Funniest Part of the Day

A couple Months ago, Gavin started saying Droid. My Brother has one & when someone texts him, it says Droid. So Gavin caught on and started saying it. Back in September we went into the Verizon Wireless store to look at upgrading our phones. They have this Droid commercial on continued play and so it is constantly saying Droid. Gavin would just copy it over and over again and everyone would just laugh and comment on how stinkin' cute he is. It was the highlight of our day! I have TRIED and TRIED and TRIED to upload the video of him saying it, but it won't upload, so this post will just be for memory sake! Trust me though it is SUPER CUTE!

Christmas Day

Gavin woke up at about 7:15 on Christmas Morning so Mike offered to go get him and play with him until his mom got to our house to open Presents. Gavin snuck into our room at 8 so I got up to go look in our stockings before Grandma got there. Grandma came at about 8:30 so it was finally time to open presents. Gavin was super funny about it. He would open a gift and then want to play with it. We had to hide the open toys in order for him to open another one. After about 5 gifts he was done and wanting to play and eat so we opened the rest for him & he was happy just to see what we had opened. We had a really good Christmas this year! We were spoiled! Mike's favorite gift was his Vibram 5 Finger Shoes. My favorite gift was my new Samsung Incredible Phone and Gavin had lots of favorite gifts. He has really played with them all. I made Monkey Bread for Breakfast, but it kind of fell apart, but still tasted great. For Lunch we snacked on all the yummy food we had. At 5 we got together with Mike's Brother's Family and ate a yummy dinner of Deep Fried Turkey, Ham, Potatoes and the usual! We then had our gift exchange and played games.

It was a great day filled with Family, love, peace, and Happiness! It is always great to get back to the root of Christmas and remember the reason for the season! We celebrate Christ's Birth and the Meaning that that has on our lives today! We are truly Blessed!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year was really LOW KEY for us. I kind of liked it. I woke up really early to get our grocery shopping done before the crowds started in and then spent the day making Banana Bread and Caramelized Cinnamon Almonds, and watching Christmas Movies. YUM! Mike had to work but got home about 6 and we ate a Party Platter with Meats, Cheeses and Crackers. We then opened up our Christmas Pajamas and gave Gavin a bath to get ready for bed. We put Gavin to bed late that night in hopes that we could sleep in a little bit on Christmas Morning! Stay tuned for more Christmas to come...

Christmas Eve Pajamas!

Thanksgiving Point Lights

This year on the 23rd, we went to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. It is a drive thru lights display & we have decided to make it a family tradition as we went last year on the 23rd as well. We waited in line for about 1/2 hour before we got in & drove 15 minutes through it! We took Gavin out of his car seat & sat him on my lap in the front seat as we were only going 3 miles an hour in stop & go light display action! Gavin loved it & liked pointing at all the fun light displays. We can't wait to go see it next year!

Santa 2010

After our Doctor Appointments we decided to take Gavin to the Mall to see Santa & do some Mall Shopping. We got there 15 minutes before Santa was supposted to come back from his break so we waited & were 3rd in line. Gavin was so excited to walk around Santa's little area, but he wanted nothing to do with Santa. He cried the 1st picture & then reached out for Mike & I but was happy. So we did get a good picture. As soon as he was off Santa's lap, he gave Santa a high five & said Thank you! He got a book from Santa & was excited to be walking around! Enjoy Gavin's 2nd Santa Picture!

20 Weeks

I am officially 21 weeks yesterday, but I need to post about my 20 week appointment & pictures. I went to the Doctor, haven't gained a pound in 4 weeks and have only gained 1 pound this whole pregnancy...hehe! It is because I still can't eat very much & I am still puking in the morning when I brush my teeth! The heart rate was at 148 & everything looked good.

We then went to our Ultrasound appointment. I don't know if the Tech was an idiot or if the baby was just being stubborn, but she couldn't get a good reading of anything except that it is a BOY! His head was right underneath my belly button so she was getting a shadow on his head, she would try to move him & it hurt so bad! Then he would move back to the same spot! He doesn't have a cleft pallet, we know that. According to the Tech, he looked great, but we might have to go do another Ultrasound to verify. The baby was also measuring a week small, so I don't know if that will affect anything. But we are for sure having another BOY! We have the tentitive name of Greyson right now, but we have 19 more weeks, so anything could happen! Can't wait to meet our new little BOY!

21 Months

I have decided that this will be my last update on Gavin Post until he turns 2 then I will do a quarterly or so post! If something big comes up, I will post it!

This Month Gavin has pretty much stayed the same. He can...

*Count to 4, we are working on counting higher but after 4 he just says "GO!"

*He can wipe his nose, which tells me he knows what his nose is & what wiping is! Good sign!

*He knows how to work the DVD player. He knows how to change it from DVD to VHS & push play. He also know how to turn on the TV. That is when you know he is bored & wants to watch something.

*His favorite words this month, Mike, Light, go!

*He has started to become interested in coloring. He found a pen the other day & a notebook & colored on a lot of the pages. At least it wasn't on the walls!

We love our LG#1!

Lights & Trains

Last week we found these Police Red & Blue lights that spin. Gavin FELL IN LOVE with them as soon as we turned them on.

Then today we set up the Train under the Christmas Tree. Gavin had the best time running and driving the train around the track all morning!

Temple Square

Last weekend, we ventured Downtown to Temple Square with our good friends Kammi, Kevin & Kahlin & with Mike's mom, Mary. We had dinner at CPK & then went to the Temple. It was kind of cold but we were all bundled as you can see in the pictures & Gavin didn't enjoy the stroller so much but LOVED the lights. This is the first year that Mike & I have actually been to see the lights on Temple Square together. We went the 1st year we were married but we flew over it by Helicopter. This is something that we will definitely have to make a yearly Family tradition.

Halloween

We dressed Gavin up as the same Monkey he was last year, because the costume still fit him! Lucky us! He loved his costume & wanted to stay in it forever. I only took him out to two neighbor houses for Trick-or-Treating because it was raining. He liked getting the candy but was shy. Next year he will be totally into it!

Pumpkin Carvin'

Last night my very computer savvy brother came out & fixed my SD Card reader, so I can now FINALLY blog & post pictures. Stay tuned for LOTS of posts. & don't forget to check out some posts below that now have pictures.

Now for some Pumpkin Carving time. The day before (Utah) Halloween we went & got us some pumpkins to carve. Gavin was NOT about the guts inside & really wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins after we started cutting them up. Mike still had his splint on his thumb so I scooped out the guts & he carved them for us, all while we watched "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." Our pumpkins turned out really well if I do say so myself. Check out the pictures. Maybe next year Gavin will be more into it?
