Uncle Ron

When I woke up Monday morning, the 3rd of August, I had a text from my mom that said that my Uncle Ron had passed away the night before. It was kind of a shock. With my grandma, I knew it would be sometime soon, and was expecting it, but it was a totally different experience with my Uncle Ron. He was a kind, loving, patient, funny, happy person. He was always so willing to help whenever he could and always had candy with him. He had the best stories and taught Drivers Ed which I thought was incredible. He had the best most contagious laugh! You couldn't help but laugh when you heard him laugh. He loved Pinnacle and always wanted to break out the cards and play when we were all together. Love you Uncle Ron! You will be missed! Until we meet again, say hi to Grandpa and watch over us.

We only had to travel to Odgen for his Funeral, so we didn't have to go too far. We 'raided' his house and got to take things that we wanted/needed and I was the lucky one that got his Piano! (Thanks Dad!) I think of him everytime I play and am so thankful for the opportunity I have to re-teach myself and play piano again.

The boys love to play it too!

Reading

At the beginning of Summer, Gavin found a pack of books at Costco that he had to have, so we made a deal with him that if he read everyday for 2 weeks, he could have the books! After a lot of trial and error, he finally hit his goal of reading everyday for 2 weeks in July, so he earned his books! He is becoming quite the reader!

Learning

He might not talk...a lot, but he sure loves to learn from the Leappad!

Dentist/Ice Cream Date

Lets go back to July, shall we?

At the end of June, Mike switched from the Navy to the Air Force, and we were promised that NOTHING would change with our Medical and Dental coverage, hence the reason we did what we did when he switched. Fast forward to July 8th and I take the day off for Garett's 18 month well child check and a Dentist Appointment for Greyson, because lets be honest, he hasn't ever had his teeth checked. So we go to the Dr. Appt. for Garett and everything is grand, no shots or anything super dramatic for him except a referral to a pediatric urologist. Greyson and I head to the Dentist in Orem (one that someone referred us to and that a 'friend' works at) and we get there and the receptionist is asking us a ton of really odd questions about our insurance. So I give them a call, and I hear that we are no longer covered. I start FREAKING OUT because I had already taken Garett to the Dr. and can't afford a 600$ well child check. Mike gets ahold of someone, anyone who can tell us what is happening and they finally got it taken care of, even though I had to leave the appointment and the Dental Insurance company double charged us for July! (AGH Haters!) I promised Greyson if he was good, that I would take him to get Ice cream at Cold Stone, and he was good, so we finished off the day at Cold Stone! I love this boy!
