Cute Boy

How cute is this boy? He was sleeping so cute and soundly last week that I had to take a picture! Plus, it was 5:30 and time for him to wake up.

Lego Table

Mike and I decided that since April, our Lego collection has grown 1000% and we need to do something fast to contain it. So I started thinking of ways to get it under control and organized. We went to Ikea and found a cool table that is nice sized, got some Lego boards for the top of the table and some organization trays for the table. This is what we came up with, and the boys love organizing their own Legos and playing.

Montana June 2015 Part 3 - The Farm

I should probably finish my Montana blog posts.

So the 3rd and final part of Montana was the farm. It was just like I remembered it. The barn was the same and there are still tractors there that the boys loved playing on. There was some horses still there that other family members have and Grandmas house felt the same even though it was different.

We stayed at Aunt Linda and Uncle Jim's house and that was nice. It was scorching hot the first night but the 2nd and 3rd nights were nice and cool, just like Montana weather. The boys love playing with cousins and all the toys they had there. Garett fell several times and skinned his knee, but that is rite of passage. Some of the cousins had a nerf war and the boys loved playing in that. And of course we loved being with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Cathy and Uncle Ben.

Montana June 2015 Part 2 - Grandma's Funeral

Grandma's Funeral was on Friday, June 12th at 11 am.  We saw her in the casket and she looked very beautiful like Grandma to me and peaceful. The funeral was very nice, Mom did a great job of the Eulogy and  Uncle Robert's talk was great as well. After the Funeral we had the luncheon and the boys wandered off and found a baby raccoon hiding by the church. I meet some people that my mom and dad grew up with and heard some fun stories as well as Grandpa singing. That was nice!

At 3 pm we went to the Graveside service and it was nice. The boys of course jumped on all the headstones (sorry dead people) and Uncle Hy dedicated the gravesite and pictures were taken and goodbyes were said. You were always so nice to us and helpful. You always wanted to talk to us and find out what was going on in our lives. You made the BEST Chipped Beef and Toast and I always craved it for months after we would leave Montana. We didn't spend much time with you because we lived in different states, but I loved the time we did spend together and I'm sorry I didn't get to see you before you passed, I was trying to make it up for the July Reunion to see you. Until we meet again, Grandma!

Montana June 2015 Part 1 - The Drive

I am going to try to do this Montana Trip in 3 parts, so stay tuned...

Part One is the Drive to Montana.  We left early Thursday the 11th and drove up to Montana. There are some awesome things you pass in Montana that are things we always look forward to seeing and Cathy got some good pictures of them.

The Sleeping Giant
The Mother Mary, Mother Theresa, Madonna statue (Many names)
The Madonna statue
We stopped at Harmons in Odgen to change the boys' clothes and got doughnuts for Breakfast and Garett loved his!

Some awesome pictures of the boys finally falling asleep.

Sleeping Boys
We didn't have to stop too much, but we did take a 40 minute detour (wrong way) to get back on the right path and to Vaughn.  That was fun! Next up, Part 2 - Grandma's Funeral.

Grandma Rushton 1920-2015

My Grandma Rushton (Mom's mom) passed away on Friday, June 5th. Here is her Obituary.

Estella Cleone Rushton, 95, of Vaughn, passed away on June 5, 2015 at a local care facility of natural causes. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 11:00 a.m. at the Sun River Valley Church of Latter-Day Saints with a visitation open to the public 1 hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held later that day in Highland Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
Estella was born on January 14, 1920 in Salt Lake City, UT to parents Hyrum Hansen and Mabel Harrison. She was raised and spent much of her young adult life in Wyoming and Montana, graduating from Simms High School in Simms, MT. On January 16, 1941 she married Fredrick John Rushton in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. From that union they were blessed with 4 sons and 4 daughters. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who enjoyed spending time on their family farm raising their children.
Estella loved horses, especially Lady. She was an avid quilter and also loved to crochet. She was an artist of both painting and sculpting. Though busy with family and her hobbies, Estella also had a passion for serving as a member in the Church of Latter-Day Saints at the Sun River Ward. With her husband, she assisted in 2 full-time missions; one taking them to Ohio and another one to Saskatchewan, Canada. They also assisted in a temple mission together.
She is survived in death by her sons, James (Linda) Rushton, Steven (Martha) Rushton, Hy (Deena) Rushton, Robert (Cindy) Rushton; daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Newman, Cheryl Link, Billie (Jerry) Whaley, Robin (Roger) Farnsworth; 33 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Spring Soccer 2015

The first Soccer game was the Saturday before Mother's Day, the 9th of May, but it rained ALL day that day so games were cancelled. The next game was on the next Saturday, but we were in California on the beach that day, so we officially started soccer games for the boys on Thursday, May 29th. The boys are doing so good this year and are loving it. They both kick the ball a lot and like their teams. It has been a good way for them to get some extra energy out and to get us out of the house (even with my super horrible allergies!) And luckily there are only 2 more weeks (and 5 more games) left this season! With Mike leaving soon and being gone for 19 weeks, I don't think we will do Fall Soccer, but there will always be next year Spring Soccer 2016!

End of School 2015

Gavin's last day of Kindergarten was May 29th, so they had a little program and he got to get all his stuff and go home. He has had Mrs. Becar (Mrs. Ashley) for the last 3 years through Preschool and Kindergarten, so this is kind of a big thing, him going to 1st Grade, at a new school, with a new teacher, to learn a new language too! Here is his last day of school picture and other fun pictures!  He had a cute talking part in his program and sang some fun songs about all the things they learned this year. He is so excited though to be in 1st Grade and to learn Spanish! Now, if I could get him to read this summer.

And Greyson's last day of preschool was May 13th before we went to California, and since I was in such a frenzy before vacation, I never got a picture of him. But he loved preschool this year and is excited to go back to Teacher Jenny next year!

For Gavin

When we were moving all our stuff downstairs, I started throwing stuff away that Gavin made at school and brought home and wanted to keep.  I told him I would take a picture of it and blog about it so when I print off the blog book for 2015 he will be able to see what he made.  So here is what I have so far.
