SNOW!

Just wanted to tell you all about my day Wednesday. It started out a pretty ordinary day, I knew there was a storm coming in, but I heard on the news it wasn't supposted to be that bad. It started snowing at about 3:30pm in Orem & I don't leave work until 4:30pm. The snow wasn't that bad in Orem, so I decided I would try to leave a couple minutes early just in case it was bad in Lehi. I got a call from Mike about 4:15pm letting me know it was a blizzard in Eagle Mountain & the wind was blowing really bad. I told him I should be fine. I left work about 5 minutes early, but that didn't do very much good. It took me about normal time to get from Orem to the exit in Lehi, about 15 minutes, but that is when the trouble really started. It was snowing extremely hard in Lehi, so every one was taking it slow. It started snowing harder & the wind was blowing snow across the road even more. It was a disaster. Mike called me at about 5 pm & let me know they closed down S.R. 73 going out to my house, so I has hopeful that by the time I made it out there to the closer, it might be open. I my hope was crashed. I didn't make it to the Smith's in Saratoga Springs (the city before Eagle Mountain & after Lehi) until 7:15pm & the road was still closed. I went until Smith's to buy food (I was starving) & chilled out in my car hoping the road would open soon. By 9:30pm the road was still not open & I didn't think I would going to make it home that night. I went back into Smith's & bought blankets & pillows & essentials for a long night spent in the car. My cell phone died at about 10:15pm & I tried to sleep in my car after that. At about 10:45pm I noticed cars were starting to make there way up S.R. 73 slowly, so I decided I would try it as well. I made it onto the road & proceded home. The road was still closed about 1/5th of the way up, so they had a detour. I didn't know where I was going, so I just followed all the cars unfront of me. It was a back way through Eagle Mountain & home. I finally made it home at about midnight.
I am thankful I made it home safe & that nothing badly happened to me. I don't think I have ever been so excited & happy to be home & to be able to sleep in my bed. I hope all you made it home safely & had a better night then I did! I hope the winter is almost done & we can finally get into Spring.
Just wanted to give you a glimpse of my Wednesday night...Hope you all have a great weekend!
