Walking...For Rizzles this time! Today when I got home from work I walked into the living room to Gavin walking around the couch (with its help) to me. I stood away from the couch with enough room for him to walk to me but not enough to be so far away. He reached & reached for me but wouldn't let go.
When Mike got home from work he was sitting on the floor & I was on the couch & Gavin was by Mike. I reached out my hands again to Gavin to get him to walk to me & he actually let go of Mike & took a couple steps to me. Then he turned around & walked back to Mike. Then he was done. It was such a proud mama moment! I was beeming from ear to ear! I am so proud of my little guy.
I was just talking to my mom yesterday & she was saying that he could do it, he just doesn't want to! Now she says that he will be walking & running by himself in a matter of weeks! Can't wait for that:) hehe! Such a proud mama today!

Walking...Sort of
Gavin is a little walking machine, when he is holding on to something. He cruises around EVERYTHING. The couch, your legs, the door, chairs, the desk, his crib, beds, toilets, tubs, IT ALL! He especially loves to walk with his cart walker! We took him outside & he was in walking with a walker heaven! Check out the pictures & video for yourself.

Little Ditty Update
Here is an update on Gavin & some updated pictures to wet my momma's whistle before she gets to see Gavin Sunday or Monday.
We took Gavin to the Doctor Tuesday for the 1 month ear infection check up. He only weighed 19 lbs. Maybe one day he will get to the 20 pound mark!
He is still not walking or standing by himself yet. The Dr. is not worried about it, I am a little stressed, but he will get there.
He still hates bath time. He screamed his whole bath Monday & would stand up using the side of the tub trying to get me to pick him up.
He especially hates is after his baths when I wrap his hands in the towel. Since he was about 3 days old or so he HATED to be swaddled. He always had to have his hands out!
And a picture of Bear for good measure!
PS - I am a blondie now!

New Diapers
Check out these diapers I found today at Harmons!
You can't really tell, but they are Huggies Jeans Diapers. They are blue like blue jeans, & have back pockets & a zipper pouch in the front! It looks like he has on Jean Shorts! So cute!

14 Months
Gavin has hit the 14 month mark! Wow! He is doing new things all the time & learning more & more each day. Now, if we could just channel that into walking, he would be moving right along! Here is what he has been up to the last month...
*We put him on the scale & he weighed 19.4 lbs! Almost there...(I have to take him to the Dr. next week for his 1 month ear check up, we are hoping for a 20 by then)
*He says so much. Most the time we can't understand what he says, but he likes to carry on conversations with us all the time.
*He has a new babysitter! We like her a lot. It all works out in the end & if you have faith, everything will work out! She comes to our house, so it is a blessing!
*He is a walking fool...with his walker. That is also his new favorite toy. That is all he will play with.
*He loves to read his books. You will find him a lot of the time in the "book corner" pulling his books out & looking through them. If there is a book already out & he comes across it, he always looks through it before he moves on.
*He is still fascinated with pulling out all the DVDs out of the DVD shelf. We are still trying to decide what to do with that thing. Hopefully we will have it moved by next week.
*He still loves to eat. If you have food & he doesn't he is always right by your side trying to get a piece of whatever it is that you have. His latest loves are goldfish, cereal, corn dogs, chicken nuggets & yogurt. & he loves his cows milk. If he sees his sippy cup, he whines until he gets it. He also loves to feed Bear. He will drop his food from his high chair onto the floor or if he is on the floor take some food & give it to Bear to eat. It's cute!
*Speaking of Bear, these two chase each other around the house. They can't get enough of each other. It does scare Gavin though when Bear barks.
*He does this new thing when you are sitting on the couch he will come up to you & stand up & put his head on your leg like he is giving you loves! So cute!
*He still only has 4 teeth. I think he might be SLOWLY teething more.
*We started bathing him in the big boy bath tub & he HATES it! He is so worried that he is going to fall into the water! I am afraid that I am rubbing off on him on the whole water thing!
Oh...My little monkey is growing up & getting so big!

Cute Gavin
Have to tell you a funny story about last night. Gotta remember this! I got home from work, feed Gavin & was in the kitchen getting something for dinner for myself. I hadn't heard from Gavin for a minute, last I had seen him, he was in the bathroom banging his hands against the bath tub (he likes the sound). I ventured off to find him & he was in his room, with a bottle of Teething Tablets that he had screwed off the cap himself & dumped out all over the floor. Silly kid. So I started to pick up the tablets to put back into the container & what does he do? He starts to pick them up with me & put them back in the container too! What a cute kid!
So he can now unscrew caps and help put things back in there containers!

Food Allergy Awareness Week
This week (May 9-15) is Food Allergy Awareness Week! My awesome Photographer, friend, ward member, woman I visiting teach, her daughter has severe food allergies. This sweet little girl is about 3 months younger then Gavin & is the CUTEST little thing! Help us spread awareness to this cause. Ashley is hosting a giveaway this week on her Blog about this cause, so go on over to her blog & comment for your chance to win an AMAZING prize. Don't forget to mention that I sent you over!
"May 9-15 is Food Allergy Awareness Week. Did you know that approximately 12 million Americans suffer from Food Allergies? Eight foods account for 90% of all food allergies. If you see someone showing signs of allergic reactions (all over hives, eyes swelling, trouble breathing, heart problems, etc.) use an epi-pen and call 911 immediately!"
The eight foods are milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nut (walnut, cashew, etc.), fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. To learn more about Food Allergies & this weeks Food Allergy Awareness Week, please visit the Utah Food Allergy Network's website! Lets all help get the word out!

Mother's Day
Yesterday I had the day to actually sit back & ponder & think about what Mother's Day means to me. It isn't my first Mother's day, but last year I was in such a fog I feel like from the lack of sleep that I really didn't get to enjoy it.
First off I would like to tell my momma how much I love her! I am sorry for any of the bad times we had or for all the hard things I put you through! I love you very much & am so grateful for the great relationship we have now! I so wish you lived closer, I miss you deeply!
Then thinking of this great gift I have now been given to be a mother, it is spectacular! I am so amazing & in awe of this life that I have been entrusted with to care for and raise. What an awesome responsibility! I am eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for loving us enough to give us the gift of a child!
I hope all you wonderful Mothers had the BEST day yesterday, I hope that you were spoiled rotten, because you deserve it & that you had the chance to reflect on what your children mean to you!

So we make up for it by voting each month for an employee of the building. Last month (April) I was voted Employee of the Building. YAY for me! I got a really funny letter & 2 movie tickets. Can't wait to use up those tickets!
