So...my Friend/Family baby shower is this Saturday, & I invited a lot of you fellow bloggers, but we haven't gotten an RSVP from you yet...If you wouldn't mind either commenting here on this post if you will be able to make it or not, or email me or my sister-in-law Michelle, or let me know on Facebook, that would be great. We just need a final count for food preparations. We are going to have a yummy lunch...so let that persuade you to come! If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks!

ps...it is an open house, so you can come & go as you please!

32 Week Dr. Appt.

I had an interesting & kinda freaky experience yesterday at the Dr. for my 32 week check up! I got to the Dr...Checked in...Didn't have to pay a copay (YAY!!! I am finally paid in full) Left my sample...They took my blood pressure & said it was great...weighed in...4 more lbs gained! That is a totally of 21 lbs gained so far! AHHHHH...that is it...I am not gaining anymore weight! JK! They put me in the exam room to wait for Dr. Glenn. He came in...Measured me. I measured 33 cm...which is a little big, he said, but normal! He said Gavin now weights 4 lbs! WOW...what a big boy! We heard his little heartbeat & startled him while listening to him...he jumped when he heard his heartbeat throught the fetal heart monitor! So to the really interesting part...I know, it has been boring so far! Pretty normal...typical Dr. appt. Dr. Glenn then tells me that I had a contraction, so if by my next Dr appt. on the 2nd of Feb, Gavin is weighing 5 lbs & I go into labor, he will deliver me. He said babies are quite developed at 5 lbs, so he would be fine if we had to deliver him early! WHAT!!!! Are you joking me? #1 - Will he gain a pound in 2 weeks? #2 - Mike won't be home until the 12th of Feb! #3 - I have NOTHING ready for this baby to get here! So lets just say, I am a little bit freaked out. Lets just all hope that he doesn't get to 5 lbs until Mike gets home...either that, or I don't go into labor until March! That sounds like a good plan! The next time I go into the Dr., they are going to start checking my Cervix...Fun huh?

Happy Birthday Bear!

Yes...I am one of those crazy pet owners who celebrates there pet's birthday! He was born too! Today is Bear's 3rd birthday! I can't believe he has been in our lives for 3 years. We have had some ups & downs with this dog...but he seems to be doing so much better. For a while back in July before Mike got ready to leave for the Navy, I didn't think Bear would be with us that much longer...he had some major set backs health wise in July just before Mike left. I was scared Mike would leave & I wouldn't have Bear to keep me company or to take care of while I was pregnant. I would have been so bored! But he has been a trooper & survived & gotten better these last 6 months! I love this dog so much & hope we get several more good years with him & that he can be around to play with our kids! Happy Birthday bubba! I love you!

No Good, Very Bad Day...UPDATE!

Now that I have had 24 hours to process the news of Mike being held back, talk to many people about it & mull it over in my head...I have decided it is not as bad as I originally thought it was. So I have decided to list the things that are good about this situation!

*Mike is feeling a lot better...he is still having some twinges in his neck...but it is not as bad as Monday & Tuesday!

*It is 2 more weeks paid training for Mike.

*He gets to retake a class that he felt he didn't learn enough about.

*Mike likes his new class...they are 10x better then the last one, so he is pretty happy about that.

*With switching classes, he already knows all the teachers teaching the rest of his classes & has a good relation with them...this can only help him out.

*He will still be here before Gavin is born (hopefully).

*It isn't the end of the world...it is not as bad as I was making it seem, & the world will continue to go on even with this little bump in the road.

*He could have been pushed back further than 2 weeks but wasn't because there was an opening in the class 2 weeks behind him, that is why 2 weeks!

*We did find out today he will be graduating on the 11th of Feb., so he will hopefully get to come home either that day or the 12th, he will still be here for Valentines day (we are also going to celebrate our birthdays that day!)

*We have gone 5 months like this, 2 more weeks (12 days really) is going to be nothing...a walk in the park for us...we will get through this!

There you go...there are my positives! And let me tell you, I feel SO much better now that I have gotten over this little glitch! I don't feel so twisted inside! We will do this!

Horrible Day!

It has been a Horrible Day!!! I need some moral support! I am down in the dumps right now! Monday Mike had some spasms in his neck, so they rushed him to the ER in California where they did X-Rays on him to find out what was going on. They determined that he had some pinched nerves in his neck, so they gave him some meds & told him to take it easy. He took yesterday off from School. While he was out yesterday, recovering, they had a test & a lab. They said they would work with him to get him to Graduate on time (January 30th), but as of today, they are holding him back. He will now not graduate until the 13th of February. 2 weeks after his original graduation date. I am...I can't even describe it! I am devastated, I don't even know what to think. We were going to drive out to California for the Graduation, but now since it won't be until the 13th, I don't think my Dr. will let me go because it is a month before my due date & I won't beable to fly because I will be in my 8th month. I am just all twisted inside...I need moral support. My Mother-in-law said it is for a reason, but I just don't get it right now...what is that reason...What if I have Gavin early, or something else happens & Mike isn't here? That is 2 more weeks we are away from each other & I know we have made it 5 months, but that 2 weeks is just that much harder! I just don't know what to do right now!!! I needed to vent & get it out! Thanks for listening!

Are we Ready?

I don't think so. As I have thought about everything the last week or so...Having Mike here & realizing that we only have 10 weeks left until our precious baby Gavin gets here, I have been thinking about everything that we need to get, get done, or have before he gets here. I didn't register for any birthing classes...slacker! You have to register before 28 weeks...that was 2 weeks ago & with Mike not being here, I didn't really know what to do! So now, when he comes, we will just be at the mercy of the Doctors & Nurses in the delivery room to lead us & help us through delivery!

We did get a lot of cleaning done in Gavin's room while Mike was here, but with my Brother here for the week, that is where the futon is, so that is where he slept...Most of the time! So we couldn't move any of the big stuff with Jason here...that will have to be done with Mike gets back. We are still trying to decide if we want to Paint his room...Our next door neighbors (the Lymans) gave us some light blue paint that they were going to use to paint their daughters room, but they changed there mind! So we could do that. We are also getting a crib from Mike's Sister...so as soon as we clean out the rest of Gavin's room, we can get that!

So we have a crib...not in our possession, but we have one! We also have a TON of clothes for the little tyke & a Stroller/Car seat set! Other than that, I have been making blankets like crazy, My Grandma is making us a BYU comforter blanket for the crib & my mother-in-law is making Gavin's baby blessing blanket...not that he will need it because we will probably bless him in May & it is kinda warm in May...but he needs one right? If by chance I have to go back to work after Gavin is born, I haven't even looked into a day care or anything like that for him to go. Everything is really up in the air right now!

I have just been feeling this inadequate feeling lately that I am not ready, physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally to be this special little spirit's mother! I have no doubt in my mind that Mike will be a great dad! I just worry about me! I don't know what to do...I haven't taken care of a baby since, well, I feel since Jason, my little brother was born 13 years ago!

Everyone keeps assuring me that once we have the baby showers, that everything will fall into place & come together...I hope they are right, but as for now, I don't feel prepared. My parents keep telling me that no one is truly ever fully prepared to become a parent! So I am holding on to that & telling myself it will all come together in the next 10 weeks.

So enough rambling...Here is my question. For all you parents out there...I am a first time mom! I need help! I need ideas, suggestions, anything you can give me. Any advice you would like to pass on, any tips or things that helped you, please share your wisdom with me! Maybe then I will feel more prepared! Thanks for your help, & listening to my not ready for baby ranting! Any help or advice you give will be greatly appreciated!
